best bisteca

Out of the main streets in Firenze, one only arrives there by someone else's indication. However, it is always, always full (what means that pretty much everyone indicates them!). They have two services and they only make reservations by phone. The place is tiny and very old fashioned (with tiles... read more

Very intimate with only two seatings so reservations are a must. Service was great and the waiter was extremely helpful. We sampled a bunch of different items all of which were fantastic. The artichoke omelette and butter chicken are a must try! If we had stayed in Florence another night we would have absolutely gone back again!

This restaurant is all about the FOOD. If you want a fancy restaurant this not the place for you. If you are not a large party and want your own table this is not the resturant for you. BUT, if you want great food then this may be the restaurant for you. We ordered the stake and the chichen dishes... More

Look, it’s very simple. This little place does two dinner seatings, at 7:30 and 9:30. (if that seems too late for dinner, you’re probably traveling to the wrong country). Reservations are a must. You’re likely to be seated with other guests (if that bothers you, don’t go). The room is warm and jam-packed (again, if you like elbow room, don’t... More

We actually heard about this treasure from our son's friend in Florida who raved about the chicken as the best he had EVER EATEN. Let me say....even if you are not a lover of chicken the petti di pollo Al burro will win you over,. The two large breasts arrive sizzling in butter and the aroma makes you want to... More

In our 11 day trip to Italy, no restaurant, hotel or attraction was recommended as many times as Trattoria Sostanza. Friends from the US who owned a shoe manufacturing business in Italy said they have been coming here for 35 years and it was a "must do". Our tour guide in Rome told us that we needed to come here... One of the best places where to have Fiorentina Steak, and all other typical Florentine dishes. The place is very small and very famous, there are several movie stars from Hollywood that come here when they are in Florence. Quite expensive, but worth every cent. The place is an old butchery, very basic but that's how things where done in... More

We read about this place and walked here after seeing the Uffizi in the morning, We did not have a reservation but were seated as we arrived pretty well at 12.30 sharp before the crowds built up. The fare and decor are simple and direct. We had the chicken breasts in butter, the artichoke pie and pasta with meat sauce.... More

A no frills restaurant where you can get the best steak and deep fried butter chicken ( soft and melts)... The rest of the fare is probably also very good but we did not get as far as that. The Steak is half a kg and costs 25 Euros. wellworth it btt you hav to order sides rapini and canellini... More

Warm greetings, great service, homey restaurant. Ordered dish of eggs and artichokes-never had anything like it! Buttered chicken -the most tender I've ever had! Finished off with the house cake with chocolate bits and berries. Very limited seating. Great dining experience in Florence!
