Traditional & Typical Italian food

This is not a modern fashionable restaurant; however, traditions are just fine, indeed! The Ribollita was deep & layered, melon & prosciutto superb; pasta & entrees all nicely done. Chianti very good and finished with "vin Santo"! We shall return also.

We happened on trattoria dell Orto whike searching fir a restaurant in the Oltrarno district. What a happy experience. The Tuscan appetizer was delucious for one who lukes the pates and meats of the European countryside. The veal chop eas the best i can remember!! Simply grilled and full if flavor. The penne Arturo style was a little too spicy... More

Food was really nice. I had the risotto and my girlfriend had the beef ossobucco. I'd recommend the risotto. Didn't feel entirely welcomed in the restaurant. It was a quiet night and the waiter (I'm assuming it was the owner) gave the impression we we're wasting his time. Once we finished eating out plates were immediately taken away. No one... More

This restaurant is very cosy, with a Florentine specific favour. Arturo, the owner, welcomes you as you go in and offers you the best seat you like, depending on the availability (for 'rush' hour, make a booking!). The interaction with the staff is very pleasant. We have had 2 dinners here, with appetizer, main dish (beef, pasta, chicken, pork) and... More

Welcoming place in San Frediano area. We ordered tagliata pepe and rosmarino and it was very good. Fries veggies pleantyful, and superb and tasty roasted potatoes. Torta della nonna excellent. Wide list of Tuscany wines.

We discovered this place while strolling around the Oltrarno area of Florence. The area is very untouristy and beautiful. We requested a table on the terrace, and even though they were set up for a kid's birthday party out there, they made room for us, and even put us in a shady part (Irish skin)! My husband had the t-bone... More

We stayed in an apartment around the corner and had to stop in as our best friend from NYC is named Dell'Orto (no relation). We ended up eating here 3 times within 1 week and always had the same 2 main dishes. They were wonderful.

This restaurant is an easy walk from Santa Maria Novella, the food is great and hardy. Their main dish is meat. This is a place frequent by locals, I recommend making reservations. This is one of the places I would go back again.
