Nice dinner with friends and kids

Excellent food: we tasted different foods and the kids had mixed appetizers and pasta. Good service, a bit quick on food but had a nice discussion on wine. Adequate price

Nice local restaurant recommended by the hotel. We were looking for good food in a "relaxed" setting. We were not disappointed. Our first visit was for lunch so we ordered from the daily specials menu -- penne with beef cooked in Chianti and tortellini with truffle sauce. Both excellent. Returned for dinner a few nights later. Sat at the bar... More

We are staying at the Hotel Lugarno in Florence (a fantastic location, interior and service) and was referred to this resturant by our concierge. We were not disappointed. Although the resturant has been open since the 50's, they recently went through an interior renovation. It is absolutely charming. It is warm and cozy. The manager, Alasandro greeted us and was... Many people have written favorably, even glowingly of Angiolino. I cannot. We were charged 5 euros coperto, even though one of us eats no bread. The water was 3 euros, and the "double" house red wine, which had perhaps an ounce more than the house white (7 euros) was 13 euros. Angiolino was recommended by a local as a place... More

Walked into this charmer at the tail end of the lunch rush and were treated like regulars even though we stumbled through the all-Italian menu. Ribolleta we will never forget!

I live most of the year in Florence for work and every time I try to experiment with new restaurants away from the tourist circuit. This time I found a pearl. Reading other comments I just can not understand how they can write so many false opinions, probably are comments from unfair competitors. The restaurant staff Angiolino told me that... More

When less than 10% of the dinner guests are Italian, then you get the feeling that the remaining guests are sent there by the hotel receptionist, who probably never would set foot in the place, even if the meal were free. Our osso buco dinner was tender but tasteless, and not served hot, even if we were seated only a... More

We visit Florence often and each time we have bistecca florentine, our last trip we found this large, very warm though, trattoria filled with locals. We were with a local as well, all of us felt it was the best bistecca florentine we've eaten, pasta and salads are excellent as well and the prices were fantastic.

When I was a kid and we would travel my beautiful Spain by car my father would stop at any place by the road (not a single highway back then) where the larger number of big trucks were parked. It was a divine sign that meant good food at good prices...Ahh, if deciding nowadays were so easy! The closest thing... More
