This is a nice little restaurant recommended by the hotel we were staying at. The service is excellent, the food is tasty and the wine list is extensive like apparently all the restaurants in the area. We had 1 pizza, 1 calzone, 2 pasta plates, 1 caprese and 1 salad, in addition to a bottle of... read more

Our first night in Florence we ate here. We both has past with tomato sauce and Bruchetta, and shared a calamari. We ordered cocktails and a bottle of very nice wine. The Bruchetta was not to my liking and I returned it, and it was replaced by another serving which was much better. Past was very nice. Service was excellent,... More

We visited during lunch. Nice atmosphere. Good, attentive friendly staff. We ordered two pizzas. Both arrived quickly and were very good. FYI we were able to use the WIFI to catch up. We would recommend to visit La Bussola.

Had lunch here late last year, food quality and flavor was much better. Had dinner there last night and it was a complete disappointment. Seafood pasta was too salty and seafood didn't taste as fresh. Won't be back

This was the place I selected for fine dining. I had enough pasta and pizza to last me till the end of 2016 during my Italy trip. I have picked this place for steaks. The service and food and their wine selection was very good.

We have been lucky to visit Florence many times and we always go back to La Bussola. The food and service are top notch. The waiters are attentive and fun without being intrusive. We have tried various menu items and have never been disappointed.

We stumbled across this restaurant whilst looking for somewhere close by to the meeting point for our ArtViva tour that we were starting later that day (their office is right around the corner). It had just opened for the day and there were only two or three tables seated when we first arrived, but of course they got busier as... More

This restaurant is towardsthe high end of restaurants, i.e. Not just an Italian pizza bar. That being said...we ordered pizza! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and it was nice to go somewhere a little fancier on our trip.

The service is friendly and professional. The wait staff went above and beyond to accommodate our every need. The wine list is impressive and our entrees were delicious.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
