Non-touristic and good food

I guess no place in Florence could be fully non-touristic but this place seems unaffected by its position pretty close to the attraction epicentre. Stumbled across this place whilst looking for another restaurant just as they were setting up outside. We went in and we weren't disappointed. Me and my wife shared the amazing Bistecca alla Fiorentina and my son had Calzone and daughter had pasta. The steak was amazing and the kids said their meals were fantastic too. For starter we all shared... More

Great service, very attentive and great with kids. Crostini was lovely and kids enjoyed focaccia (pizza bread), followed by taglierini neri vongole pomodoro fresco pecorino (Black clam pasta with fresh tomato and pecorino cheese) and tagliatelle with ragu. Enjoyed by all, would recommend.

Locals told us of La Bussola as one of the best pizza restaurants in town, but it has much more. The outside seating is limited but the menu is very comprehensive and the quality throughout the various dishes was excellent.

I went to the restaurant with my wife to have a special dinner after reading the TripAdvisor reviews. The food was exceptionally good, but the service was really poor. The only gentle guy was the owner.

I went here with my family as our fist night in Florence. Coming from Rome we had high standards and they certainly were met. I ordered the tagliatelle bolognese and was very impressed. The fish and pizza was also a yummy choice. Highly recommended!!!

In the middle of a very busy day of seeing sights and leather shopping, La Bussola was recommended to us for great pizza. Their menu is more extensive than a pizzeria, but this was exactly the high quality pizza that we had been looking forward to. We enjoyed sitting at the bar, watching our pizzas being made, enjoying a cold... More

Came here after having horrible pizzas at the restaurants close to site attractions ... Read good reviews about this place and booked a table they trip advisor ... I don't regret it at all ... Food was amazing ... Loved their pizza margarita and their pastas ... Their service was really good ... We all enjoyed our food ... Sadly... More

La Bussola is a very good place for a late night dinner in Florence. The food is very good, a bit pricey though. They have a very good tiramisu!

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
