Old School and Delicious

This is exactly what you'd expect an "authentic" trattoria to be like. It's no frills, everything is fresh and home made, their English isn't great (but like everyone here they speak it, though they may not want to speak it to you!) and their menu will probably be what their kitchen has chosen to... read more

This restaurant was within a block of our hotel. I just don't think a bad restaurant would survive long in Italy. My wife had the Penne w Salmon, I tasted, yum. I forgot what I ate, I remember enjoying the place. After we finished it looked like a local ordered off menu for a whole fried fish. It looked great.

A simple old fashioned trattoria - just like the one I first visited nearly 60 years ago (maybe it was this one?). Simple freshly cooked food, good wine, and not expensive. Bello!

One of a few restaurants recommend by a local Italien friend, this place turned out to be simply fantastic! Authentic Florentine trattoria with wonderful food. Went there for lunch and liked it so much went there for dinner a few days later. The best meals we had during our one week stay. Ordered from the menu of the day. Pastas,... More

Sure the waiters are surly and sour, but who really cares? They don't seem to be hurting for business and probably don't want the place overrun by tourists, which is exactly why we went there as do many others. It's not a fancy or expensive restaurant. It's just simply and well prepared food, nothing to get worked up about if you... More

First, a waiter asked us to "wait one minute" and simply forgot us. After 10 minutes, another waiter guided us to a table. After that, our main courses took quite a long time to be served (+/- 45 minutes). The food was ok. The caprese salad was very fresh but my veal seemed to be a burger.

Unfortunately the waiters didn't seem to want serve us - not only did they throw the cutlery at us but forgot the salad we ordered. We couldn't eat fast enough to leave...food was ok but service definately needs improving.

This is slightly off the beaten track, but loved by the knowledgeable. Had a fantastic lunch, and the best of all an amazing dessert. Chocolate and hazelnuts on a dish similar to creme brulee. Absolutely tremendous. Staff very helpful. Very close to being best Italian meal we have had.

We have returned to this restaurant every year and find it to be genuinely great food. wWhen we first went the waiter did not speak English but now do have some. two years ago we got talking to an Italian- American couple (on honeymoon) who had been told to seek the restaurant out so a good indicator of the quality... You can't beat the food here---really awesome but you have to be ready to put up with some sourpuss and cranky old servers. Everything we asked for (more water, Olive oil----a taxi afterwards) was just too much trouble ----and we even told them we'd been SENT there by a friend of the owner. When they realized we had 5 in... More
