Buzzing

We were there for an evening family meal. It's a sort walk across the river from the main sites, but well worth it. Simple, authentic dishes beautifully prepared. Funky and buzzing, yet traditional to the core. A fun night out. Book, to be sure to get a terrace spot in the square.

The best meal we had in Italy by a long shot, the gnocchi was out of this world and the beef stew with potatoes just perfect. I'm only sorry I didn't try the steak on the bone, it looked incredible. We were recommended a bottle of wine by our waiter, Luca, which was spot on. We really enjoyed the atmosphere... More

This is a typical place where the portions are HUGE - I couldn't finish the reduced portion. The prices are very good, my plate was 5 euro. However the quality is pretty bad... I didn't expect pasta clumps anywhere in Italy. The area is pretty buzzing and alive so it depends on taste; most people seemed to be found backpackers... More

I absolutely love the soft cheese and truffle oil gnocchi. It is my favorite meal in Florence. I also love the chicken and vegetables. They do something that makes it all taste so amazing and fresh. In the two years I spent in Florence, this is one of the few places I went to regularly. Always great food, good service,... More

We found this place just wondering around but we were very surprised. The atmosphere was fantastic, warm and inviting, I had rabbit, my husband had steak a la Florentine and my daughter had triple. Everything was delicious. The wine was good and the raping was to die for.

We had delicious meals (ate there twice) at this local restaurant in the Oltrarno. We'd been told to order the "ridotto" (half-sized) portions whenever offered, and that was terrific advice. The food is so good we wanted to taste almost everything, and the reduced portions were more than large enough to satisfy. The appetizers, especially the Gnocchi graninati, were so... More

I visit Florence at least twice yearly just to enjoy the food and culture. Osteria Santo Spirito was introduced to me by a friend living there. It is by far the best restaurant for pasta I have had in Florence, perhaps even the country. It delivers the full Italian experience, with a quaint outdoor patio, a view of the happenings... More

It is definitely a very busy place. You either book in advance, either you are very patient (you'll probably have to wait till 22h to have a table). But it is worth waiting. Delicious pasta, great meat and friendly service. Portions are huge and price is low. Definitely a great place to eat in Florence...
