Walked in off the street not knowing what to expect. We asked for the restaurant and were escorted through the buzzing pizzeria to a bustling area with a fridge of the type you find in butcher's shops, groaning with cuts of aged and delicious looking beef. The menu is replete with tempting Tuscan dishes but from the reverence with which... More

Lets face it, apart from the ill informed tourist, you don't come to Florence to eat Pizza. It's the wrong region and there are many other fine local dishes you should be trying (have I mentioned steak?) However, we had read a lot of amazing things about this small Pizzeria, adjacent to it's sister Osteria (which I also hear is... More

This was a nice surprise. It is one of those places where locals find the best foods and they know their patrons by name. Walking distance from the Duomo, its an amazing, cozy excellent osteria (This from Wikipedia; An osteria (Italian pronunciation: [osteˈria]) in Italy was originally a place serving wine and simple food. Lately, the emphasis has shifted to... More

While in Florence Christmas week, we enjoyed lunch here so much that we returned 3 times. We dined in the Osteria which was in a quiet room in a 16th century palazzo. We had cheese and salami or veggies for a starter. The mozzarella was some of the best that I have ever had. We had pasta with ragu, pasta... More

I tried the pizza and it was so nice and worth trying it but as for the meat I think there is better places, also tried the pasta with pumpkin but didn't like it too.So mainly it's a pizza place.

Food was good both times. Service was worse than terrible the second time. Request for a bottle of wine was ignored as was the request for the check, several times. Avoid the ordeal, there are too many great restaurants in Firenze.

My husband has always wanted to try the Bistecca Fiorentina at Osteria del Caffe Italiano on our previous trips to Florence, but I am not much of a steak eater and was not interested. On our most recent trip, however, he shared this dish with our daughter, an avowed meat lover. The steak is sold by weight, so the butcher... More

We saved this place for our last dinner in Florence, because the place is on the expensive side. But the atmosphere, service, quality of food- worth it. Also, the location is on a charming little street, close to many central attractions.

We dined in the pizzeria, not the main restaurant next door. We stumbled across it walking around the side streets of Florence, from spotting a pizza on another diners table, we went straight in. The waiter wasn't the most friendly but we soon forgot that! Both pizzas we had were delicious - we spent two weeks in Italy (and ate... More
