Stunning views of Tuscan hills just outside Florence

Well worth jumping in a cab from Florence and visiting - it was well under a 20 Euro ride so not too far. Stunning views over the Tuscan countryside. Food was good but I wasn't a big fan of fried vegetables. That said, there was plenty of pasta and fish/meat secondi to choose from. A stunning place... read more

Omero was recommended to us by friends and we made a reservation for dinner while we were visiting Florence. The restaurant is in the hills outside of central Florence and it was a nice cab ride and the restaurant had a very nice view back to the city. The meal I ordered (pork chop) was very good - my three... More

Very friendly service but given the calibre of the place the quality of the food was not good enough. The only great dish was pasta. The crackers that came with the bread were also a favourite. The steak was overdone and tasteless. The florentine chicken was also tasteless.

The extra effort to get there is immediately rewarded: bucolic, quiet, verdant terrace with charming view of rustic Tuscan hills - hard to believe it is just outside Florence! Yes, you pay a bit of a premium to eat in this setting (RESERVE AHEAD!). And it is worth every cent. Impeccable service. Top-notch wine list, with many fine locals at... More

When you become aware that the waiter has no interest in being their let alone serving you ,you know things might not go so well.we order from the most basic descriptive menu I've ever seen, ordering simple grilled food.If you can't get this right I ask why bother.the grilled chicken needed a mouthful of water downed at the same time... Never fearing controversy, I'm going to start by saying that this is, without doubt, the best restaurant in Florence. Located in the village of Arcetri, in the hills above Florence, it offers some of the finest, unfussy Italian cuisine anywhere, and as for the views across the city with the evening sun bathing the Duomo in soft gold, well that... Take a taxi up into the nearby hills and don't be put off by the entrance....as you walk in, the view of Florence below and the gentle, villa filled hills is beneath you. Plus, the food and the service ( no pushing you out..just savor the experience) are equally spectacular. My friend who lives in Florence treats herself to what... More

A little trattoria with a storefront overlooking Firenze; beautiful. The food was great and matched most other restaurants in Florence. The service was wonderful - always on top of what the table needed. We did not have reservations and they were able to fit us in, but I would recommend securing a reservation. It wa not touristy either; more authentic.

A local taxi driver suggested this restaurant; it was where he went for special treats. Good enough we thought for our last night in Florence. Certainly our initial impression - the view down the hillside was a delight. Maybe we should have taken more notice of the table opposite laid up for 20 odd people. Our waiter had a beaming... More
