We enjoyed our meal but left feeling slightly disappointed. The environment is different, fun and enjoyable. As other respondents have reported the converted warehouse with its fresco ceiling featuring Dante makes an interesting setting. The service was good and attentive, with a couple of mistakes rectified quickly without any drama. Our three course meal, with the usual 'top and tails'... More

The setting inside the restaurant is beautiful and relaxing. The parmesan flan amuse bouche, the foie gras and pink pigeon were all delicious. The service was good and we would definitely return to this lovely restaurant. It's a nice change from the typical cuisine in most restaurants in Florence.

I was shocked to read poor reviews of one of the most amazing restaurants in the world - Discovered in 2003, under layers and layers of plaster and stucco, these 14 century fresco's cover the ceiling and walls of this amazing dining experience. Restored by Florentine craftsmen, as only local experts could save this treasure. It cost $1.5 million and... More

Having read some of the negative Trip advisor reviews I was slightly concerned , but nevertheless followed the recommendation we had been given . It's an old building , decorated with beautiful murals and modern furnishings - the setting works ! The restaurant is intimate with two seating areas , upstairs and downstairs . The upstairs gallery is more atmospheric... More

This is a very elegant, sophisticated restaurant with delicious food in a wonderful old building. The dishes are refined, moderate to small servings with a great deal of care and craft in the food. The service was impeccable from the complimentary prosecco and canapés to start, right thru to finish. Reasonably expensive - over $750 for 7 people, but with... More

My sister and father had eaten "the best meal of their lives" here back in 2002 (my sister is a chef, so this recommendation held weight). They insisted my husband and I eat a meal there on our honeymoon and get the tasting menu, and so we did. The atmosphere was intimate and serene, the prosecco they offered when we... More

Awful service and even worse food. Light lunch consisted of minute bowl of salad which took 30 minutes to prepare followed by a 'main course' of two bite size pieces of chicken and green beans fried in batter. We were told, upon complaining, that they had no fresh beans. We left! This place is one big tourist rip off and... More

Ate there recently as part of a birthday celebration. Took the tasting menu, which is 90€. Firstly was surprised that there was not a pre-selection of matched wines for the courses - they know what is coming and we didn't - but could only buy wine in a bottle - so had to choose just one for all courses. Then,... More

We recently dined at the Alle Murate on a Thursday night, which turned out to be a big plus for us. The restaurant was not crowded, and since we arrived for an early seating, we were able to be seated amidst the upstairs frescos of Dante and the 13th Century Florentine Guild of Judges. Talk about sublime! We selected Giovanna's... More
