Not the best not the worst

My wife and I ate here on our first night in Florence. Communal tables, we sat with 5 young adults from a hostel near by. 2 Germans, 1 Brit, 1 Colombian and 2 Americans - between us all I think we spoke about 22 words of Italian (pitiful on our part) Our waitress Umberta spoke 3 words of... read more

Surprisingly this address was given to us by different people and who usually are quiete difficult for their food. I went there for lunch with friends. On the positive, the simple location, famiglia 'look' and positive atmosphere. The menu is over simplistic and more disappointing is the price which is unthinkable for such simple food. 68 euros for 2 pasta,... More

The real bistecca alla fiorentina, wood-fire grilled, with all the truly Florentine accompaniments (white beans in oil, crostini with liver), we've been coming here for more than 25 years, it never disappoints. For real foodies who are willing to do a little hunting through the back streets of Florence.

True, the waiter is busier minding his own business than taking care of the clients. True, the bill is quite expensive. However, the house wine is hearty, the Ribollita soup and the “Arista” (pork loin) are delicious and the Fiorentina steak…well, I have eaten 1 Kg of it on my own and I could have asked for more. Simply superb.... More

I had missed lunch and breakfast so had a Bistecca alla Fiorentina, (normally served for 2) which was beautifully cooked with some white beans preceded by some excellent salami and followed by very good parmesan. The house chianti was very pleasant. They also had seasonal specialities, ovoli, funghi porcini and truffles although I didn't try them on this occasion. This... More

Good food, good service, good wine, fast, we loved it. Don't expect anything fancy, you'll be seated at tables with other people, interior is simple but cosy, service ver prompt, food fresh and tasty. Really enjoyed it.

One of the better choices for meat lovers. The Florentine steak was exquisite, and the first we tried on our trip. This is place is a must if you are in the region.

We were fortunate to find this restaurant up a small side street and were not disappointed. The restaurant was busy but not full and seating was at long tables. We sat at the end of one table with a large group at the other end and it was a true 'Tuscan' experience. Lots of local specialities and we'll definitely go... More

Walked in here from our hotel. Having read the notice outside that said, "we do not do coffe or pizza and do not accept foreign currency" we thought this will do us. This is a simpe. local restaurant that does Tuscan food very well. It has long shared tables, an owner who will translate, and advise on the menu, good... More
