We were fortunate to find this restaurant up a small side street and were not disappointed. The restaurant was busy but not full and seating was at long tables. We sat at the end of one table with a large group at the other end and it was a true 'Tuscan' experience. Lots of local specialities and we'll definitely go... More

Walked in here from our hotel. Having read the notice outside that said, "we do not do coffe or pizza and do not accept foreign currency" we thought this will do us. This is a simpe. local restaurant that does Tuscan food very well. It has long shared tables, an owner who will translate, and advise on the menu, good... More

Love going to this restaurant. The food is good and simple. It's not a tourist trap and often share the table with Florentines. The prices are reasonable.

I got very surprised when my friend took me to this restaurant. Everything is simple and people do not have a prepared smile to receive you. However, since my friend was a frenquenter since he was in high school (and this means TIME), we where well served. Food is fantastic, forentina and tagliata con ruccola and grana are perfect ...... ...do as the Florentine do, and eat a quick, hearty, freshly prepared lunch in simple, unpretentious surroundings. This ain’t posh, so don’t expect posh and if you don’t speak Italian, the waiters will translate the verbal menu. Large tables are intended for sharing, so don’t be surprised to be rubbing shoulders with a Corsini prince or a couple of members... More

Interesting to read the varying reviews. We know the restaurant from friends who came in 2001 and the interior has not changed from then. The key is to call ahead and make sure you order the steak, which is easily one of the best steaks we have ever had. It will come medium rare (more on the rarer side), with... More

I recently had the 'displeasure' of lunching here in Florence and I really wish I hadn't. I have lived here for eight years and have discovered a number of wonderful, very Tuscan trattorias to write home about. This is not one of them. The atmosphere is pretty depressing as someone else noted and there is just an ambiance of 'I... More

This place has a bit of a workers canteen feel about it, and is extremely charming, if you like that kind of thing. The food is high quality and tasty, if pretty simple. The service is brusk, but efficient. It is let down by being quite expensive for what it is - can get excellent meals for this money elsewhere... More

Depressing place with poor service and below average but overpriced food. The waiter displays an attitude of no interest at all for making sure the guest has a good experience. Food is below average, given the speed that it is delivered it is probably microwaved. My "agnello arrosto" was just fat and a bone and arrived within 5 min after... More
