I advise anyone who books at Cibreo to just go with the flow. You may well have to wait be seated but there's a comfy Chesterfield. The service is not overly attentive but it is as much as is required. The menu, in that it is "explained" to you is somewhat unconventional but the food is fantastic. If you are... More

This is the "main" restaurant and the flagship for the 3 restaurants owned by the family. It is excellent, unique, and not inexpensive. For my wife and me, it was worth it. I have no idea what the expectations are or were of previous individuals, but this is not a "tourist" destination and the restaurant is for locals with very... More

Food : Really nothing special - I ate much better in restaurants with local friends. This is for tourists clearly. Ox tail was nicely cooked, starters were more like a student experimented with spreads. Service: Maitre d is a nutty guy.....one of those who think that if they are bossy they are charming....not my style......for 150 euro a person, I... More

In the very lively Sant'Ambrogio quarter, this famous restaurant has also a trattoria and a cafe arond the same place. The restaurant isn't very big but it has a cozy look, especially the entrance room. We had booked for dinner on a staurday night, probably it was a mistake. Welcoming was not very warm nor classy, we had to wait... More

Well, probably not quite. But antipasti is phenomenal and a great deal. My entrée, on the other hand, was the size of an appetizer (two medium-size meatballs and a bit of mashed potatoes). It was delicious, but 20 Euro?

This proved most popular recommendation from friends before our trip to Florence and I can see why now. Beautiful room, unconventional menu (waiter talks you through it) and really delicious food. Loads of free unexpected appetisers come before your own order. For me that was a heavily perfumed mushroom soup then octopus cooked slowly in red wine until at melting... More

I dined at Cibreo with family in September 2014. The restaurant was recommended. While it was ok, it certainly was nothing special and even a bit annoying. First, there was no menu. Our server (one of the family that owns it, I assume) pulled a seat up to our table and recited the options. I suppose for some this represents... More

We had several great meals over 10 days in Italy and consider this the best. The menu is varied and interesting; some things you'd expect, some unique. Service was good -- we enjoyed talking through the menu with our server. The highlight is the food. From appetizers to dessert, the food was delicious. As some reviewers have pointed out, it... More

What a wonderful restaurant! Every mouthful was exquisite and unique. From the tumeric yoghurt amuse bouche to the mouthwatering eggy pannacotta coated in burnt caramel sauce. In between we savoured the complimentary hors d'oeuvres of almond skordalia, tomato in aspic, peppers and salad of cold tripe; followed by the delicious potato and ricotta flan with pesto, pappa al Pomodoro; then...
