Had dinner there a few nights ago on our first night here and had a wonderful meal with a spectacular wine- Da Vinci chianti in fact! Highly recommended

Grandaughter of Camillo seated us and made great dinner suggestions, like pigeon pie with a deep, sweet crust and large penne type paste baked into it; fresh peas; goat chops. Items that you don't see on many menus.

I think that perhaps at some time in the past, Cammillo may have been a good restaurant. On a recommendation, my husband and I went there for dinner while on a recent trip to Italy. It was undoubtedly the worst meal of the trip! First, we had to wait half an hour for anyone to even take our order. Next,... More

There are so many solid choices in Florence from the most basic but wholesome small family owned trattorias to more elegant restaurants. Cammillo trattoria was neither. We were seated at a table about 3 inches from another ( a setting for four divided) and a waiter provided menus with attitude from the start . Bread was stale and tasteless and... More

This place just made me mad. I've been to Florence a few times and for the most part have been extremely satisfied with the food and the experience. Not only was this place overpriced and average, but they charged a cover charge of 3 euro pp. What a joke. You have to be desperate or crazy to consider this place.... More

What a wonderful spot! We were on our way to a wedding in Perugia and decided to do a brief stay in Florence to revisit some of our favourite spots. As we were staying at the wonderful Hotel Lungarno, the aunt of the bride, who lives in Florence, recommended that we visit Cammillo. We are so glad she did! We... More

We wanted a nice romantic dinner with authentic Tuscan (not tourist) food. The concierge recommend Cammillo and we were not disappointed except a bit in how packed it was. The food was traditional Tuscan fare so a but less bold in flavor than some of the southern dishes. It was farm to table quality and the wine recommendations were dead... More

Crossing the Santa Trinita bridge towards Oltrarno and taking the second street on the left, you will inmediately find Cammillo, one of the best and most authentic trattorias you can find in Florence. Food, basically tuscan, is made with the freshest of ingredients. The veal parmeggiana is somehing to remember, and the caramelized goat cheese is worth the visit. Prices... More
