The 5 stars here is PURELY for the fettucine with cream sauce, ham, and peas. Lightest and most flavorful pasta I've ever tasted. The meats here aren't very good, but just this one pasta was the best pasta I've had in all of Italy. This pasta kind of killed all other pastas for me. My fiance ordered the rabbit which... More

This place was recommended by a local friend but I felt that it was too dry for a dinner with friends. Was it the lights, or the stark white walls, I dont know but that is what I remember from the dinner. It was not bad food, I am sure but the place was not warm. Maybe it is a... More

I had to double check this is the same Trattoria Cammillo at which we had a fabulous meal when I saw some of the latest, unhappy reviews. In our case, we were delighted with the food, the service, the old-fashioned but pristine decor and the warm atmosphere. The dishes were delicious Italian fare, with a twist: the improbable marriage of... More

I was looking forward to a good down Italian meal. Unfortunately this was not the place for it. Maybe it was my American sensibilities but the food was average a step up from Olive Garden. Service was spotty. A very long menu and yet it seemed fewer options. We went for lunch and found it expensive. It's ok but I... More

Amazing place for Tuscany food. Great meat dishes with gluten free options. The menu is very exhaustive compared to most other places. It has a full view of the kitchen where the chefs looked happy even on a maddeningly busy day. Lots of personal touch. Very friendly.

Are you a tourist or an Italian local? That has never mattered in our numerous travels until this restaurant. We were told our choice of salads was no longer available yet we watched many such salads get delivered later to locals. The service was slow and disorganized as evidence by our waiter who looked like Captain Kangaroo place our olive... More

Our Apartment rental agent recommended this restaurant. The restaurant had excellent service and very good food. Although a little more pricey, it was worth the expense. The Mozzarella was among the best I ever had. Their unique Chicken Parmigiana was the best I ever tasted. The restaurant has been under the ownership of a family since 1945.

Wanted to love it. Two friends recommended it and one nearly never goes wrong. What was great was the saluted pork main course with chickpeas and green veggies. This was great! Given we heard their pasta was special we ordered two pasta dishes - both disappointing. The house tagliatelle with peas, ham and cream was bland. The meat ravioli in... More

The food was off the charts good, the waitstaff too great care of us, and a definite hotspot to people watch. Locals frequent this restaurant, and it's been around for a very long time. The wine list is extensive as well. An evening my wife and I will not forget.

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
