Overpriced cafe with a view

We stopped here for an aperitif one evening. It was a very hot day which felt even hotter sitting behind the glass surround of the outside seating area. The aperitifs were the most expensive we had in the whole of Tuscany though they did come with olives, and nuts etc. However this attracted the... read more

The views from the caffe are worth the prices; in front of Piazza della Signoria, across the Palazzo Vechio this is the place after a tired stroll in Florence, a break for an espresso with with one their decadent delicious pastries. I went 3 times during my stay in Florence always at the middle of the afternoon.

Great location but the food is very expensive and not very exceptional (well, at least breakfast, which is what we had). Two regular coffees cost 12.50 Euro!! :-/ Service was not that efficient given there were not a lot of patrons when we were there.

We had breakfast here on morning. It was wonderful with the view across the square. The food was excellent and the service first class. It is a little pricey but we could not fault the value for money given the setting and the standard of the food.

Caffe Rivoire is a great Florence experience. Yes, it is expensive (desserts were each about 8 Euro), and touristy, but the desserts were delicious and beautiful and the service was very good. Between the 6 of us we tried the Zuppa Inglese, Diplomatico (white cake w fruit and berries), Profiteroles and Tiramisu. My husband had the hot chocolate which he... More

We had a quick breakfast by standing inside the restaurant, for a cheaper price. The staff are very nice, and the ambience is great - the typical European cafe style. The coffee is super and the pastry is delicious. Worth to go there if you're a first-time traveller in Florence & if you love coffee.

I love this cafe. It is rich in history and the staff are proud of it. La Rivoire was the first chocolate house in Florence and the philosophical people would meet there and debate. The view is of the only fountain in Florence, David, Palazzo Vecchio. The waiters are very polite and the coffee is excellent. They all speak a... More

We just had morning drinks there as its in a great location on the square and not too busy. The staff were slow to take our order despite it not being busy and not very helpful in giving out the wifi code which when they eventually did it didn't work. The grooming as well as the attitude of the staff... More
