Overpriced But So What

My wife and I had cappuccini and croissants at this Florence institution. The food and coffee was fine but the people watching was really the attraction. 18 euros for two cappuccini and two tiny croissants may not seem worth but it was fun.

When in Florence, you must visit Caffe Rivoire. It is the perfect location to enjoy a snack, drink, or a full meal, as it is located right across from the Palazzo Vecchio. On our recent visit, we stopped twice for a snack and once for dinner. We are never disappointed with the food, service, or atmosphere. The servers dress elegantly... More

we drank chocolate and had bar food - splendid location a little miffed when waiter decided to add a euro to bill (before service) - I caught him at it and perhaps he was embarrassed - just a bit tricky (not impressed) - not a great way to treat tourists - but it's nice place just watch the bill carefully

This might be the best hot chocolate we ever had. The chocolate was dark, rich and delicious. The whip cream put it over the top. The cappuccino was very good too. Need to make it a must visit while visiting Florence.

Lovely atmosphere for late night hot chocolate/drinks and cake, with a lovely view of the palazzo Vecchio. Staff were very proactive and friendly.

had lunch on a sunny day at Rivoire. Perfect food, very tasty and greatly cooked. The view is fantastic, especially if you like to to people watching. The home made desserts are mind-blowing. i had zuppa inglese...I can still taste it now! The service is very professional This is definitely a place where you want to stop, no doubt!

This was sadly a great disappointment : unfriendly staff, mediocre cuisine and overpriced dishes. On the day we had lunch, there were mostly tourists and not so many locals. Most of the Giacosa staff is still there but the old spirit has gone ! we shall not go back !

The best hot chocolate I've ever tasted! Plus we went back again on day 2 for a toasted panini and quiche for a light brunch. Great service and a great location for people watching / resting place / planning the rest of your trip.

Our tour guide said this place has the best hot chocolate and she is right. It costs €4 if you stand but €8 if you choose to sit at one of the tables. Service is fast and so is the WiFi. We spent 2 hours here people watching. Nice place but a little expensive. You pay for the location.

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
