Very nice restaurant in the Santa Croce area

We had lunch at Baldovino after it was recommended by our tour guide. We were not disappointed. My husband and I had "Tuscan Bangers and Mash," which were artisanal sausages with horseradish mashed potatoes. Really hit the spot. Would love to go back again for dinner next time we are in... read more

We found it for lunch while visiting the San Croce church, and went here for lunch all three days in Florence. Wonderful food - pizza, pasta, and salads - and very accommodating service. You can sit inside or outside, both are fine.

Both times we tried to go shutters were down and on closer inspection it looks as if it's closed down? Listed in time out and recommended hence our visit but Friday and Saturday in march they were shut down

Very easy to overlook the nondescript exterior. Inside we found a very cozy trattoria with excellent food and service, on the recommendation of our hotelier. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality and value of the meal. The roast chicken and the papardalle with wild hare were excellent. Very intriguing menu. Be sure to order the "Tuscan hummus" appetizer... More

We found Baldevino while wandering around the area near Santo Croce. We had a lovely lunch here and were so happy we found it. Everything was wonderful - wild boar stew, margherita pizza, and ribbolita were all excellent. We liked the appetizers too - homemade hummus with flat bread was some of the best I have ever had. With a... More

We live in Florence 2 months every year, but this was our first trip to Baldovino. Upon a recommendation from a friend, we tried it, and we were not disappointed. The grilled seasonal vegetable antipasto was perfectly grilled and lightly seasoned with fresh mozzarella and new olive oil. But that night we were there for pizza, and I must say,... More

Me and my friend Massi often dine in different places in Florence from Egyptian food, hole-in-a-wall, quaint cafe, famous Mercato San Lorenzo, Spagetteria for cab driver and Ikea. Our choice of food place is quite diverse. But before I left Firenze after studying, me and Massi dined in a very special restaurant recommended by my friend Daniela. And it's a... More

At 14:00 we needed a break and something to eat. What a great find behind the Piazza Santa Croce! An abundant appetizer of great Tuscany salamis and a wonderful atmosphere to "restore" ourselves.

A maze of small rooms creates lots of space inside (despite outside appearance) but it still gets packed by locals and lucky tourists! Fantastic food of every type - sampled steak, pasta, salumi, pizza, and the best lasagna ever! If so inclined, the back room is very romantic in corner tables. Wonderful, friendly staff and great prices. Highly recommend, among... More
