Amazing food al fresco

Luci offers some of the best italian food I've ever had; whether it's steak fiorentina or mediterranean flavoured seafood, it's outstanding. Their wine list is also quite extensive. We had an amazing evening; I would go back on my next trip to Florence.

LUCI is a can’t miss restaurant if you’re going to check out Piazzale Michelangelo. There is no view from this restaurant, as it is tucked away about 100 yards from Piazzale Michelangelo. This is a local restaurant. I would recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice. Some nights they have a DJ/Band and have a lot of dancing up... More

This was recommended to us by our hotel on grounds that it had views over Florence. It has no views (unless you count the view over the busy road, and the trees beyond that hide the view of Florence). Food choice was ok, and our meal was fine but overpriced for what it was. The best part was the service... More

This restaurant is well away from the main tourist hot spots in Florence, in the hills near to the main view point for Florence. We chose Luci al Piazzale because it was within easy walking distance of our hotel, Villa la Vedetta. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would certainly eat there again on a return trip to Florence. There... More

We got to Luci al Piazzale and the service is to low the guys try to cheat on the bill and they charge the meals 2 times. You need to check carefully your check. The place is a House and had not a view of Florence at night.

Luci is set away from the really touristy bits of Florence and felt like a real secret find. We went for dinner (and again for drinks the next day!) and the menu had lots of interesting choices and the waiter was great at answering our questions. I had an enormous pizza that was very fresh tasting and well executed. There... More

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighborhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
