Enjoyed a wonderful evening of wine tasting and appetizers in this cozy wine cellar. The owner introduces himself and shares his knowledge of how to taste and rate wines. Excellent food and atmosphere. Don't miss this stop on your tour.

Visited la Canova di Gustavino on a wine tasting tour with my mother. Cosimo the owner was excellent and is very friendly and personable. He gave us a great wine tasting experience. The food, service, and wine here are superior. This was one of the best restaurants we dined at while visiting Florence. Add this restaurant on your places to... More

While wandering the streets in search of a pre-7PM dinner, finding everything else closed, we stumbled into the wine bar thinking we'd kill some time before going somewhere else for dinner. This is the sister location of the fancier next door Gustavino operation (which would no doubt have been more expensive). To our surprise, we were treated to a wine... More

The decoration with wine bottle is cool. (Even if we don t drink wine :-) ) We tasted the trippe and the tomato soup (pappa). I liked the first one and we found the second not very liquid but good too

We were walking one night and passed a couple sitting in the window seat, fronting a stack of wine bottles. We laughed at this sight and the couple posed for a photo! We went in and chatted with them and their servers. Their meal had been superlative so we booked the seat for the next day. They did not disappoint!... More

Well, we all know that Firenze offers probably the best restaurant in Italy. La Canova di Gustavino is up to that standard. The menu is simple but yet very creative. I never knew I could have pasta with a mix of parmesan and dark chocolate! The wine list is impressive and the staff will do every effort for you to... More

This place is a surprisingly refreshing resto in Firenze. The owners apprently weren't afraid to take risks against the usual, tourist-trap screaming traditional Italian interiors look and yet haven't gone too far on the minimalizing effect. The interiors are warm, welcoming, homey, yet they lack the usual spider-net in the corners meets red-squared tableclothed wooden tables impression. They found the... More

We wandered into this little place and found absolutely delicious food! We had been traveling in Italy for about three weeks and were starting to get quite tired of Italian food but this place renewed our love of Italian cuisine.

Good quality food, solid service, great selection of wines (not only high end Brunellos), modern decor. That makes it a place worth finding and trying.
