I tried pizza "napoletana" and it was very bad. So they offered to me some "spahetti " with red sauce and i could not finish!! I will never go again in this restaurant!
There must be at least 100 restaurants in half a dozen blocks between the Duomo and the Arno, and most of them, to be honest, are pretty competent. The worst thing you normally need to worry about is a rather boring menu of touristy standards, and you don't risk being badly ripped off unless you choose to sit down right... More
We were pleasantly surprised as the restaurant had few people in it. I had the best pizza in all of Europe - thin crust, great cheese. Perfecto!! My husband had the veal dish and he almost ordered another serving of it. Not because it was a small serving but it was so good and he hated to think he would... More
This is a large restaurant compared with many in Florence. Had a mid-day meal here. The food was OK, nothing special but not bad. The service was quick. However, there was a ~10% service charge on the bill, something I had not seen at other restaurants in Florence.
I would rate this restaurant somewhere between average and poor. We were a group of six and were looking for a place that was reasonable in cost and had was not full. The pizza was adequate, but the people who had pasta dishes were disappointed. The pasta was not fresh and the sauces were bland. The service was good, but... More
We did not enjoy our meal, the décor or the overall experience and it was deserted. The Owner or Manager was very nice but the Waiter was not attentive and the food was not good. The prosciutto was the worse we had, the quality was not good - it was hard and cold. The prawns were also of poor quality... More
We did hesitate about going in as there was no-one else inside when we first arrived at just after 7pm. We went for pizza, salad and grilled vegetables and were more than pleasantly surprised by the meal as the pizza was excellent as was everything else. The service was quick and more people started to arrive about half an hour... More
Tourist pizzeria near the Duomo with fairly average food, however we received excellent fast service when we explained that we had a coach to catch, so it was useful for a simple fast meal. The waiter was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the service. Prices were reasonable for central Florence: 7 euros for half a litre of house... More
While in Florence last year, we dine two times in La Repubblica. It´s a cozy restaurant two blocks from the Duomo. You can expect good Italian food (try the three sausages pizza and the lasagna) at reasonable prices and a good humored Italian service (to some cultures it can be considered rude as it doesn’t follows the main etiquette rules).... No locals present: bad sign. Rude service. Terrible atmosphere. Stale bread. "carbonara" tasted like boxed Mac & cheese with deli ham... Only with less flavor! I was too scared too eat my carpaccio after the quality of the earlier courses. All of this and a 7 euro service charge. A disgusting tourist trap: STAY AWAY!!!
