Great Local Italian Food ...

The Capaccino was recommended by our local Florentine guide so we gave it a try, and glad that we did. Is a family owned restaurant and the husband and wife team work seamlessly for the patrons. We had pizza and enjoyed it greatly. ...

Last day in Florence, wanted a hearty soup for lunch, and this place had it. The mushroom and farrow soup with nipitella was the perfect dish I wanted before heading to the airport. My wife had the minestrone and we will be coming back to this place for future lunches in Florence, where we can taste more from the delicious... More

We were simply disappointed by this restaurant due to the couple owners very pushy to consumm like a tourist trap. Service was bad, serving us with plastic plates but when the bill comes, they counted additional 3-5EUR/person for table service. The owners and the waitor are simply crooks. Terrible tourist trap with overpriced items, wretched staff, and extremely bad welcoming.... More

Just around the corner from the mobbed Ponte Vecchio, we stumbled on a small quiet family run lunch spot. The husband chef prepares everything to order. We had a minestrone, risotto pomodoro and salad.... all very good. Although more than full, the owner convinced us to try his special torta made that day with freshly harvested sangiovese grapes. Excellent. With... More

While walking around Ponte Vecchio, looking for a place to have lunch, the rotund waitress/ owner eagerly invited us into her restaurant Capaccino, which boasted a sign that read "Pizza Gigante" . The four of us were seated in a dusty corner of the small establishment, and were given a single, hand written menu which did not list the prices... More

We stumbled on this lovely little cafe at lunch. We ate outside and had an excellent lunch. Freshly made pizza with lots of fresh basil and mozarella. The service was lovely as weRe the owners. Hope to revisit one day On another trip to Firenze! Thank you!

It very often happens that one comes across such little precious gems like this one without particularly looking for them, let alone expecting them. Hidden behind a corner of a small street between the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio, here you can find a small cosy terrace with several tables and super friendly staff who kindly welcomes you and explains the... Having visited this gem in the past, we returned today to find the same delightful couple still turning out incredible truly homemade---to order---delightful food and vino. If you miss this place you may be pulled in by the traditional tourist places...don't let that happen as we have found none better. Thanks Gianni and Francesca and keep 'makin it happen!

Came across this small restaurant by chance and were made very welcome by the owner chef and his wife. We chose the regional speciality called "Ribollita", a vegetarian stew made with cabbage, carrots, beans, onion and bread, delicious. The lasagne was tasty, the Apple fritters and struddle were good as was the bottle of wine and the dessert wine. Recommend... More

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
