Nice meal

Had dinner here and took some young family friends we had bumped into unexpectedly in Florence. Was very nice meal - the food was fresh, delicious and somewhat original. Was comfortable for relaxed conversation. Would recommend.

When we arrived in Florence, our room at Hotel De La Ville was not yet ready so we decided to get a late lunch. It was roughly 2pm. Since we are foodies we searched for a well reviewed restaurant nearby and found Il Barretto. They were about to close but welcomed us without any reservations. We started with the octopus... More

Atmosphere, food, service - all top quality. The kind of perfect fine dining experience which is just tad better than the average but without being pretentious.

Went for a weekday lunch, restaurant was quiet but we thought that both the food and service were excellent. We had the prawns and anchovies to start and the lobster pasta and sea bass for mains. Mostly based on the waiters recommendations and all were very good. We drank wine by the glass and all the servings were generous. This... More

What a fabulous restaurant. Three of our party ordered lobster pasta & the fourth had steak. Also had salad, caprese salad& asparagus with parmigiana. Homemade bread. Everything was delicious & service was impeccable. If your in Florence try it, it's well worth it.

We enjoyed our whole fish here, served tableside, as well as the bread basket of home made breads and our anchovy appetizer. David, our waiter, was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is upscale but considering all the competition in Florence we felt the prices here are high.

Excellent dinner. Prior to arriving I made a reservation through TripAdvisor. Glad I did. I saw others waiting. Staff was accommodating without being overly friendly. The food. Oh, the food. Steak tartare to start. Veal chop stuffed with spinach served with pan juices. Yum. Go there. You won't be disappointed.

A friend and i decided whilst walking past to have dinner at Il Barretto and we are so glad we did. The wait staff are unique and such characters, the owner is very familiar and just an all round lovely guy. The characters eating in the restaurant, locals and tourists alike, were extremely entertaining. Not to mention the beautiful Italian... More

The restaurant is very well decorated and looks recently done, the food was good quality and well presented there was a party of 7-8 from the USA and 4 couples in the restaurant and he spent as much time as possible entertaining them and seemed a little impatient with anyone else, this just wasn't our opinion, It was his too...
