My girlfriend and I wondered down a random street in Florence on a Saturday Night in late May. We walked into a great looking spot that ended up being closed - the restaurant owner of the little whole in the wall suggested this restaurant down the block, as they're still open. It's 11:30pm at the time. We walked in and... More

As my title says, this was a great place to duck into on via Nazionale behind some of the bancarelle. Simple yet delicious (and reasonably priced), foccaccine a la' carte, filled with locals, and you can get right back on your way to shopping afterwards.

This hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop tucked away near Mercato Centrale is to die for. It was all locals when we went. The menu is simple and the sandwiches do not disappoint. You can add a variety of items to them, but I think it's best to keep it simple. I had the mozzarella and prosciutto. And get two different ones so... More

Good food, quick and friendly service, low prices. Frequented by locals. The younger man translates your English in Italian for the older man. Gestures and pointing is helpful when the latter is alone.

I am surprised this place is not way further up the rankings. Hidden away behind the all the leather stalls, I had wondered in and had a focaccia with aubergine parmigiana and mozzarella. At €2.50 it represents amazing value. Absolutely delicious, one of the best sandwiches I've had - anywhere. It was empty - admittedly it was 2.30pm so past... More

Love this place for a quick bite. Delish sandwiches and pizza, low prices, friendly staff, casual environment, cute old fashioned tables, open all day till midnight. Beer on tap and selection of wine. Perfect for someone wanting to eat in 15 min. You can order hot focaccia and pizza by the slice. All very good and fresh. Historical locale
