Excellent meal, bursting with taste

We had the eight course tasting menu. Each dish was excellent and full of taste. I thought it verged on the pretentious, as many fine dining establishments do, but the little gimmicks actually all had a culinary purpose. For example, the risotto with foraged vegetables and herbs sounded like a... read more

A restaurant for true food lovers and lovers! Quite a way out of the city but as soon as you walk inside the atmosphere is warm, inviting and personal. We had the degustation menu and we can only describe it as superb! Each course beautifully presented and described in great detail. Courses were well spaced and service was really first... More

Part of a venture that is also cooking school, the Graal restaurant specialises in presenting Degustation Menus..+ paring wines if you so wish. We however , now both sick of too much food delivered with excessive style (some courses of which we really aren't interested in trying anyway & all for very much money) chose to order a la carte.... This was a great find a little out of the way in Firenze. The servers were very attentive and I loved all the little things they did. They would roll up your napkin every time you left your seat. They repositioned the cutlery mat so it faced the right way up. The presentation of the food was beautiful. The taste... More

We found this restaurant by chance on Via Roma while walking from the apartment we were renting to the Boboli Gardens. We decided we would give it a try that evening and went there w/o a reservation around 8 p.m. on that Monday night. This restaurant leaves nothing to chance. The food, the presentation, the décor, the service and the... More

We were staying across the street from this restaurant and decided to try it on our last night in Florence. They offer two five-course tasting menus at 40 euros but the items are also available a la carte. This was totally different than any other meal I had in Italy. Portions are not large but are so packed with flavor... More

We have been fortunate to visit Florence and other places in Italy several times over the past few years, and have eaten in many restaurants. A few experiences were not good, the majority were very good, and a handful were exceptional. Il Santo Graal falls into the last category - it is the only restaurant that we have dined at... More

We enjoyed a quick dinner tonight at Santo Graal. It was quite different from what we initially expected but surprisingly good. I especially loved the "molecular" version of the traditional panzanella I'll surely go back and taste more dishes.

I went to Italy to visit my family last year. I did also a travel From Venice to Pompey, visiting many important cities such us Florence. This restaurant was a casual discover and it is one of the best meals I had ever.
