My wife and I wanted something special to celebrate our first anniversary. Great ambiance and the service was excellent. We had a late dinner so the individual courses were perfect portions. But the tasting menu was tempting, and for the price is a great deal. Great flavors from the roasted chicken, and the spaghetti surprisingly went very well with the... More

I believe we happened upon this restaurant through Yelp and what a lucky find! It's just up the street from the Pitti Palace in a quiet, non-touristy part of town. While most of the food we ate in Italy was rustic, and delicious, this restaurant took it up several notches. The setting is modern and the food is a contemporary... More

Absolutely. Unique setting in a not so touristy part of town. Great atmosphere, service, and, of course, food! Watermelon with goat cheese and pistachios... Gnocchi with anchovies and tomatoes... Salted caramel semifreddo with popcorn. Perfecto!! We may go back again before leaving Florence!

As with other reviewers, we happened upon this restaurant by lucky accident. What a wonderful meal. Atmosphere: Cozy. Quiet, contemporary loft-type interior of exposed brick, dark wood, modern lighting. Food: Spectacular. I recommend a prix fixe dinner, either 5 or 6 courses @45 euro. My colleague and I each tried one, so that we could share all 13 tastings. Having... More

We wanted a good meal close to where we were staying in Oltrarno. Il Santo Graal was that, and so much more. The small menu changes daily, and is available in Italian or English. After reading the Tripadvisor reviews, we each tried one of the tasting menus (€45 each). What a treat! Each course contained only a few delicious morsels,... More

We just completed a 16-day trip to Italy and this was the only restaurant we experienced with outstanding cuisine. We had some wonderful Italian meals, but this was the only restaurant that crossed the line into fine food, delicious and beautifully presented. We are "foodies" from America and appreciated the fixed menu with its creativity, presentation and delicious combinations. The... More

We were recommended this by some friends who visited earlier in the year and were really glad we went! The "white" tomato spaghetti was amazing as was the polenta gnocchi and the staff were really friendly and passionate about their food and wine. They do a modern spin on traditional Tuscan dishes and it works well for them!

Came across this excellent restaurant one evening in Florence - it offers a non-traditional approach, very good service and excellent quality food. Highly recommended.

We have lived in Florence for over a year, and Il Santo Graal is currently our favorite restaurant. They have bravely broken free from the conformist lock-step of most Tuscan restaurants, serving delicious yet creative food. Their menu is based on the ever changing seasonal produce the region is rightly famous for, and so every visit brings new surprises. Our... More
