One of the best meals ever

I had the pleasure to eat at il Santo Graal a few nights ago and it was one of the best meals I've ever had -- Italy or elsewhere. from the outside it looks like many restaurant's in Florence but when you get inside and look at the taster menu your realise you are in for a treat. Great Italian menu with local products. Great wine choice.

I've only just realised that the position in the list of restaurants doesn't just depend on how good the place is but how many people visit and say it's good! Hence a local sandwich bar is placed higher as a dining experience than an outstanding restaurant. In future I must always explore down the lists and not just look at the... More

This is a modern take on traditional Tuscan cuisine, must go with an open mind as the descriptions may not appeal to everyone. I am continuously surprised by the innovative taste/texture combinations. I also love that they are small portions, which gives you the opportunity to taste several courses without feeling stuffed. This is a must for wine lovers, as... More

We gave several 5-star restaurant reviews on our Italy Trip, but Santo Graal stands out for its imagination, creativity and fun. It's hard to describe how refreshing it was to sit down to great italian food, with everything re-imagined. Definitely a must if you're in Florence. We experienced the same great service, great ambience and great wine as other local... More

Tired of pasta, pizza and the same old fare, and want to lose the crowds, try this place for a fabulous meal. This is my second review of Il Santo Graal in the last 6 months.. Five of us were there for dinner on Sunday, May 24th. The service was excellent, the meal and each course well explained. The wine... More

The place was recommended to us and unfortunately we accepted the recommendation at face value. The service was first class (if you have all night) and who needs the napkin folded in 10 different ways during the meal? Just give me some food for my $76 AUD - 3 teeny strips of octopus on a tablespoon of ??? for him,... More

The passion that the staff have for food and the genuine buzz they get when you praise it says it all. We opted for the 8 course taster menu for €55 each and it was exquisite. Taste and texture combinations wowed every time and who knew chicken liver parfait works with salted caramel? It does! It's in a cool area... More

We dined at Il Santo Graal on our first night in Florence bec I really wanted our first meal to be a good one. The meal was exquisite ( we had the degustation) - the service faultless and we stayed on for 7 nights in Florence and had many other great meals since that night but none came close to... More

We had the eight course tasting menu. Each dish was excellent and full of taste. I thought it verged on the pretentious, as many fine dining establishments do, but the little gimmicks actually all had a culinary purpose. For example, the risotto with foraged vegetables and herbs sounded like a bit of foodie nonsense, but the risotto itself was tasty... More
