Bit of Lunch !

Found this bar by accident after climbing Giottos' Bell Tower. We had two lasagne, mixed salad and two desserts with a bottle of water, a bottle of Prosecco (20€)and two coffees to finish. With a 10% service charge it cost 70€. The lasagna tasted good, desserts OK, overall a pleasant meal with... read more

We visited this establishment one morning hoping for good coffee and fresh pastries to fuel a day of sightseeing in Florence. Unfortunately the coffee was tepid, the pastries were stale and service non existent! Bill for 4 croissants and 2 Latte's came to just over €16 (including a cover charge).

This traditional Italian cafe has a great atmosphere and really helpful staff. We had quiche, a sandwich, tea and coffee and the food was good and good value. I would definitely return. Great for a a quick coffee during a busy day sightseeing or shopping or for a longer lunch. Many local people obviously go here on a daily basis.

Good spot to drop in for espresso. Tarts and chocolates are lovely. Service is good, we are staying just around the corner, so we frequent quite often.

We arrived and selected our pastry and ordered two coffees. We then took a seat on their curbside area and waited only minutes before it arrived. The seating area has a great view of the local attractions and it was a lovely day. The pastry was very good and their coffee was also very good. It was also very good... More

We stopped for a late lunch and a break after a long walk in the Uffizi. Service was reasonable and the food was fine; actually the kids had burgers which were surprisingly good, and the fries were excellent. The tuna salad was great too. But they hit us with two service/cover charges amounting to about 20% of the tab. I... More

One of the smarter restaurant/cafes in Florence for sitting on the street- good wine selection and the pizza and antipasto was a great way to end a day of touring.

We stopped here after a walking tour and knew it was good when the locals stopped in for lunch. The pasta is homemade and the sauce is NOT from a jar. Prices were very reasonable and the location is convenient to everything city center.

Very romantic place, a bit pricy. We had cannelloni, and OK risotto. Superb, but expansive vine. Excellent dinner in Florence.

The cafe/bar was just around the corner to our hotel. After a hard day of sight seeing we needed to sit down and relax. This was the perfect place. We sat outside with a bottle of wine and some nibbles. We watched the world go by! The wine is reasonably priced and the food menu adequate. The owners seemed to... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
