Good find; expensive for what it was

This is a restaurant that appeared to have little local trade, but had mostly tourists. Nevertheless, the food was excellent and the service prompt and efficient.. we mixed and matched a few dishes. Very nice little restaurant! Food was good and service was very good. Local people were enjoying their Sunday dinner also. Recommend!

The place is quite simple, but warm and the personnel is kind. The menu is not too broad but you can find a good selection of typical local dishes. You can have a very decent meal for about 20-30 €. I did not try meat dishes but soups and pasta were really good. Maybe the owners could play some music... More

We stumbled out of our hotel looking for one place, and when we realized that one was much higher priced than we wanted to spend this particular evening we saw Il Mostrino's menu and decided to try it. So glad we did. No pretensions, just good food and amiable service. They have a smallish regular menu and what we assume... More

Just after my check in at the Hotel I asked the staff if they can recommend a restaurant in the vicinity and the told me about the Il Mostrino, great recommendation that herewith I am passing to you. It is located very close to several Hotels, to the historic center and to the main rail station Santa Maria della Novella.... More

This restaurant was a short distance from my hotel and happily it opened at 6.30pm. I had a simple meal of ribollita soup (made in-house) which was all that I wanted for an early and light meal. It was excellent. That, with just mineral water to drink and a quiet ambience at that time of the evening, made a solo... More

That above says enough, doesn't it? 😉 We loved the food so much -- the Florentine Steak was huge & cooked to perfection! The Vongole Aglio Olio was amazing simplicity that was such a delight on the palate! And the Grilled Chicken was superb as well... Just writing this is making me hungry and longing for a trip back to... More

Popped in this restaurant and was happy about the food and the service. Had seasonal menu of wild boar pasta , veal chops and traditional florentine soup with Tuscan bread . Also great service by our waiter who thought us a little Italian . Worth dropping by ,

Since I was attending two events at the nearby opera house and wanted to eat before the performances (rather than afterwards) I've eaten at this place for two consecutive evenings. They are already open at 6:30pm and they serve a decent meal. I tried typical Florentine dishes and was not disappointed. I would only suggest to the cook to take... More

We were in Florence for four nights and wanted to try typical Florentine dishes. The food was excellent. We had ribollita, florentine white bean soup with pasta, and pasta pomodoro. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was terrific. The prices were not outrageous. This is a great restaurant for delicious Florentine food.
