Like a garden (this is the origin of the name), in a friendly atmosphere of light, colours and scents. A relaxing environment where you can taste the refined flavours of the Japanese cuisine and the less known but equally sublime of the Thai cuisine. A journey to a corner of modern Asia, to be spent in the intimacy in the room with tatami booths or under the magic of colours and stillness in the room with the vertical garden in search of ancient flavors of the Eastern cuisine.

Japanese is good and yummy

For jap food, I think pretty good. However Thais, still far from authentic. Overall rate depends on what you wanna hv. Service is ok

Too much sugar in the thai curries. One of us had massaman and the other green curry, both made with chicken. While both these curries need a bit of sugar, certainly they didn't need so much. The massaman was mostly just potatoes with off cuts of chicken added. The green curry was breast bits that were very much like compacted sawdust.... More

It's nice that Florence now boasts a (partly) Thai restaurant however, being the only game in town, they are able to charge a premium. Small portions, high prices, decent quality, conservative selection. Just about what you'd expect from a European city's first Thai restaurant.

We have dined here on a very busy night (Saturday and Valentine's day - enough said). Although the restaurant was significantly busy, the staff was very nice and friendly to us all the time, so that really gave points to our overall experience. Food was delicious, but considerably pricey for the portions you get.

Foreword: I travel a lot, especially to Asia where I have lived. This is why when I am at how I try to avoid any Chinese, Japanese and Thai restaurant as here in Italy they are not up to standard in my opinion. Of course every now and then you get to go there, at least they are cheap. Well... More

We went for dinner and having read the impressive selections of Japanese and Thai fares we decided to go for Thai food as the south of Italy isn't known for fresh seafood at all. The food that came was mediocre at best and the servings were tiny. Thai tom yum goong soup was 10 euro and it was a small... More

Well, what should I say? Those plates were just awesome, tasty and beautiful. The only problem might be the parking... Is pretty difficult to find a parking for your own car. Other than that I think there is not downside for this amazing restaurant.

As Thai food is hard to find in Florence, Niwa was a great surprise! It's not a proper Thai restaurant but more of a fusion Asian restaurant, serving things like spring rolls, great spicy Thai soup but also good sushi. We ordered pad thai which wasn't of the quality we are used to (very big flat noodles) but we know... More

My husband and I moved to Firenze back in August and have been searching for good Asian food ever since. We found great Chinese food in Siesto, but were still looking for Japanese and Thai food. Well, we finally found it! Niwa was wonderful. We sampled three appetizers - the edamame, the vegetable tempura, and the vegetable spring rolls. The... More
