Great gelatto in a great city

I'm sure there is good gelato to be had at other establishments in Florence (Vivoli being another of my favorites), but dei Neri has some of the best I've had. Friendly service, nice atmosphere, and excellent gelato - what's not to like?

Went there several times since I moved to Florence. It is pretty good, but there are better places in town for gelato. But the service is nice.

I still dream about those flavours... ricotta and fig... Gorgonzola... Delicious :) The creamy traditional flavours were also some of the best I had in Italy (we visited Rome, Florance, Bologna & Venice). The little street it's on is also cute to walk along; there's a cool record shop to check out.

I will remember this ice cream for a very long time to come! I had fabulous salted butter caramel ice cream and chocolate with brown sugar. Both amazing, but the what took it to a different level was the caramel sauce which they extremely generously put a huge WODGE of on my ice cream! If only they had been more... More

I was scrolling the streets of Florence and stumbled across this gelato shop and I am so thankful I did! It was definitely one of the tastier gelatos I've had in Italy! I had the strawberry cheesecake and the coconut gelato and they were both really creamy and filled with flavor! They even had bits of fruits and pieces in... More

I live in Florence since 2007 and I can say without any doubt that the best ice cream of the centre of Florence is here. Low prices and great quality, a big variety of tastes, originals and made by them. Everything is great here, crepes, icecreams, brioches, cakes. Don't follow the big names, don't choose the places with enormous icecreams... More

Second favorite gelato on our ice cream tour through Italy. A little more crowded (than our favorite) but worth the wait. Counter staff very friendly and patient. Try the coconut!

I spend a lot of time in Florence and I have a handful of favourites and Gelateria dei Neri is certainly one of them. This is THE place to go for fabulous gelato. There are many flavours, fresh and delicious. I LOVE the fondente and caramello, and the chocolate orange...and the strawberry sorbet...and the cannoli... The parlour is clean, warm... More

This place was recommended by one of the guidebooks I was reading. Being in Italy, the land of gelato, has definitely spiked my standard for its national treasure. I found the gelato at this place to be mediocre and nothing outstanding. I’d save the real estate in your stomach for something better.

One of the best gelato places in Florence. Freshly made every day, creamy and delicious flavors! Reasonably priced and not far from Santa Croce and the Arno river. I have a huge sweet tooth and must say, Gelateria dei Neri was one of my favorites. I made sure to bring all of my friends and family here to try their... More
