Tried the lemon, passion fruit, and gorgonzola-walnut flavours. All were delicious - I was surprised at how well gorgonzola-walnut works in gelato form, and the fruit ones had a creamier texture than most of the gelato/sorbet I've had in the past. There are a handful of tables inside, or you can sit on the sidewalk/steps outside to eat. Service is... More

So, it was our last night in Florence and we stumbled upon this gelateria. I ordered a bowl of fruit flavored sorbets, which was good, but not exceptional. While we were sitting there, I saw a love letter posted on the wall from an Italian man who has since moved to Minnesota. He seemed to have a thing for the... More

Florence is full of ice-cream places - only a handful are really good, the rest is overpriced sugar and artificial flavorings. Dei Neri is really good. They excel in "specialties": the Mexican dark with chili and pistachios, Gorgonzola with walnuts, etc... maybe sounds grouse, but all are actually delicious and well worth a try. Classics like pistachio are OK, but... More

It's not easy to make stand-out gelato in Italy. Most places make very good gelato, some are pretty poor, and occasionally you get memorable gelato, which Gelateria dei Neri definitely had. They have some of the creamiest gelato you'll find anywhere, and that includes the oft icy fruit flavored gelato. They have your standard flavors but also have creative and... More

Taste was very good. Staff is very helpful, and gives 1 free taste per customer. Variety was unexpectedly broad and included unusual but excellent tasting rose, gorgonzola, and fig. My personal favorite gelato is chocolate/orange, and the flavor here was exceeded only by that in Amalfi. Most people seemed to choose 2 flavors placed in a cup. Reasonably convenient location.

I go here every time I go to Florence (being an American this means it is only every couple years). It's a bit of a walk, but walking through Florence is a treat too. Just went this week and it is still a great place. This time I had the licorice gelato. It was so good I went back for... More

Gelateria dei Neri is a cut above the competition on the Italian gelato scene. The diversity of flavors and the quality of taste really distance dei Neri from the rest of the gelaterias. Their product is unmatchable.

This was our second favorite gelato in Florence. Cream of Caramel was amazing, but also thick and sweet, so mix with other flavors. Cookies and cream was very good as was the ricotta/fig. Staff was very friendly.

I had the dark chocolate and chocolate chips flavour, while my friends tried the cheese flavour. The dark chocolate was delicious and my friends really loved the cheese flavour. Delicious but not the best.

Go there. Seriously. I went 3 times in 5 days, thats how good it is. Stop reading this and go now, you won't be disappointed, whichever flavour you choose. Yum!
