A glass or 2 of decent red

We didn't eat here - just stopped by for a glass of Amarone because we could. Good service and little eats to go with. You can also buy a bottle in their extremely well-stocked wine cellar and drink it there for a few extra euros. Would go again. Hope to go again!

Highly recommended. Fantastic selection of wine by the glass. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. We popped in to get out of the rain and were delighted with everything this place has to offer. The bruschetta was to die for. Freshly prepared.

Alessi are very well located in the centre of Florence, a super place for those wanting to find local traditonal products and top quality products from Italy and abroad. They have a great wine cellar and also their Single Malt Whisky offer is very good. Often they organise tastings and I was glad and very pleased to have participated to... More

We were looking for a special bottle of wine for Christmas Eve and were directed to Alessi by our hotel concierge. Wow. This place has the complete package-- a great selection of wines of all types, all the best Italian wines, and a very knowledgeable staff to help with your decisions. We decided on a 2009 Serralunga D'Alba Borolo-- what... More

Great wine bar in the middle of Florence. Great wines and great food. The cherry on top was the great Music (R&B and Soul DJ mix) which nobody would expect in such a traditional wine bar. But I liked it 😃

What’s to love about Firenze? Enoteca Alessi ! This self-contained wine bar component of a well established and up market liquor store offers a fabulous selection of Italian wines which we were served by Alessandro. The atmosphere in here is conducive…………seductive and it oozes with ambience. A shrine to indulgence – the wines of your choice are decanted with an... More

We went here on a food and wine tour in Florence for the day but came back at the end of our day to taste and sent a little bit of Italy home to the USA. We loved the atmosphere so friendly and they take their time helping you. We tasted many wines of the region and sent home some... More

We ended up here twice whilst in Florence. The wines by the glass are very good and the cold meats and cheese they sell go very well with the wines for a lovely lunch. You can also buy a bottle of wine from the very well stocked cellar below and consume in the Enoteca for 3 euros. You could well... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
