I realize that TA is geared to the Anglo World so I am sometimes suspicious. When I got to my hotel early and told the staff I would be back to check-in after lunch they asked if I needed a recommendation. I said I wanted to try Hostaria Desco. They both complimented me on my choice. Filled with locals many... More

This restaurant was recommended by a local contact of ours - we ate there a couple of times during our visit to Florence. Every time we were impressed by the freshness and quality of the food- this is a real Italian ristorante. The prices were very reasonable and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our 10 month... More

This is a jewel only a couple of minutes off Piazza della Signoria. Fortunately, not many tourists know this place so you get to eat with the locals, florentine food. We shared crostini misti (great mushroom and pate`) and coccole (some fried dough balls with prosciutto and stracchino cheese). We had some local GF pasta (pici) with pesto sauce and... More

Really friendly and welcoming staff, quite a big menu so tricky to decide but we were not disappointed in the lamb dishes we had. Succulent meat, presented well and tasted devine. Sadly we were too full for dessert but I hear they do an amazing Cheesecake

We got the recommendation from our B&B owner. He mentioned this was his favorite. The food was all very tasty and price was reasonable. Will definitely return.

Hostaria Il Desco is in the middle of a street very close to Ponte Vecchio, it's just fascinating to find it in the middle of the street with it's unique scent. Quite a fancy restaurant with a friendly price. I totally recommend rissotto and white wine for a perfect dinner.

We dined here on our first night in Florence and it was an excellent introduction to the city. Upon being seated, we were given complimentary prosecco and bread. Soon after, the waiter brought us each a small bowl of delicious tomato soup! The menu lists all allergens in the meals, which is great for people like me with multiple food... More

From the house red wine, to the "on the house" potato soup, bread" and entree of pasta with pesto sauce- everything was amazing!! Friendly staff, timely service and delicious food. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to taste delicious Italian food!! Definitely my favorite meal since I've been in Italy!

It was a friend recommendation, and since it was close to the hotel we came without much expectations - the environment is small but extremelly cozy / reserved and attendance very friendly and personal. We ordered the famous Fiorentina bisteka and a superb 1.2kg delicious t-bone meat was presented to us :-) , they always provide some side-dishes (as a... More
