Description: The close artistic and cultural affinity between Venice and Florence has brought an enchanting piece of the Venetian elegance in the amazing Tuscan capital. The historical Caffe Florian, opened in 1720 in St. Mark's Square in Venice, now finds its natural space in Florence, with the opening of this new and prestigious location where the exclusive coffeehouse and the fine dining meet the Contemporary Art. Part of the private Florian Art Collection is now here on show in a permanent exhibition, Aron Demetz, Mimmo Rotella, Fabrizio Plessi, Gaetano Pesce, Irene Andessner, Bruno Ceccobelli, Marco Nereo Rotelli, Paolo W. Tamburella, Luca Buvoli, Massimo Nordio, Arcangelo and Fausto Gilberti are some of the many both Italian and international artists who, over the years, reated exclusive pieces of art expressly for the Venetian Caffe Florian. And now their works are in Florence, to pay their tribute to the three centuries' tradition of style, elegance and refinement, that made the Florian name a renowned myth all over the world.

Was a great evening. We tried 2 different fixed menus and were pleasantly surprised. Danny the waiter was very gracious and even gave us other restaurant tips(Gusto Pizza). We had a great white wine from the Val D'osta region and the food was beautiful and tasty. I will add pictures when I figure out how......

My friend and I are traveling through Italy at the moment, and came across Cafe Florian totally by chance. As we walked past, we were invited in by a lovely waiter (Fabiano I think his name was) who offered us a free glass of bubbles. We were apprehensive, having been offered "free" things in Rome that then turned out to... More

We had to pay 12 € becouse we listend to the music they were plaing. Well if I'm staing on their table is hard not to listen to the music. Next time I will... More

If you like modern Italian food done to a high standard, enjoy modern artistic surroundings, excellent service and a good deal, do not miss Caffe Florian. The artworks come from previous Biennales in Venice and some are for sale. We went twice for lunch in one week and thought the lunch menu (coffee and water are included) was both good... More

For me Caffe Florian should be held up as an example of how a restaurant should be run,as every component of our evening was faultless. The place is an intriguing mix of historic Florence, and art gallery, but essentially a fine dining establishment, all held together with an enthusiasm from the staff which can only be because they are happy to be serving... This is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in. The menu is creative, delicious and served with flair. We ate there two night running it was so good with the manager promising us the chef would do something special for us should we go back, so we did. He created a beautiful starter with pasta, cheese and... More

My wife and I have popped into the caffe florian on two separate occasions - one time for tea and another time for a cocktail (We've never tried the restaurant). Both were great experiences. It's a posh environment so the drinks are a bit more on the pricier side, however, the service and creativity make up for it. The barista... More

That is my first review at Tripadvisor but I felt I need to do it as the experience deserved it. I was on a business trip and had an evening on my own (how wonderful!) and was wondering where to eat. During the day I passed the Florian, and wondered whether it would be worthwhile to go to what is... More

We had afternoon tea at Florian. Small but good selection. All the customers were seated in the entry zone which is not very nice but which makes it easier for the waiters. Ambiance was frosty. We later discovered that Florian actually is . Much bigger with many nice places.
