The close artistic and cultural affinity between Venice and Florence has brought an enchanting piece of the Venetian elegance in the amazing Tuscan capital. The historical Caffe Florian, opened in 1720 in St. Mark's Square in Venice, now finds its natural space in Florence, with the opening of this new and prestigious location where the exclusive coffeehouse and the fine dining meet the Contemporary Art. Part of the private Florian Art Collection is now here on show in a permanent exhibition, Aron Demetz, Mimmo Rotella, Fabrizio Plessi, Gaetano Pesce, Irene Andessner, Bruno Ceccobelli, Marco Nereo Rotelli, Paolo W. Tamburella, Luca Buvoli, Massimo Nordio, Arcangelo and Fausto Gilberti are some of the many both Italian and international artists who, over the years, reated exclusive pieces of art expressly for the Venetian Caffe Florian. And now their works are in Florence, to pay their tribute to the three centuries' tradition of style, elegance and refinement, that made the Florian name a renowned myth all over the world.

This was a quiet cool refuge from the hot crowded streets of Florence. The food was excellent and the style and presentation was more refined and gourmet than the cuisina tipica everyone else wanted to sell. Really enjoyed the meal and the service was tremendous even though we were American tourists eating too early and splitting plates.

What a gem of a bar. We were lucky to stumble across this cafe bar on a Sunday evening. The cocktails were delicious. Fantastic service and attention to detail. Gorgeous little cafe next to the main restaurant. Very pretty decor and relaxed atmosphere.

We were very fortunate to have stumbled into Caffe Florian one lazy Sunday evening. We had a heavy lunch and we were looking to have a light dinner. It was one of a few establishments open that day and instead of take-out we ended up eating-in. The place was lovely and reminded me of Angelina's in Paris. They have a... More

After walking all over Florence seeing churches and shopping we happened to find Florian and walked in for a very late afternoon lunch. The staff was attentive and happy to accommodate us. We chose some delicious sandwiches of chicken, salmon and asked for a prosciutto & cheese one as well. Let me say that the restaurant space is beautiful and... More

After some days of traditional Tuscan food, we want something different, something more experimental or tempting. Florian fitted this perfectly and we went for the tasting menu. Don't expect the florentine steak or boar ragout, but dishes on an international level. The tasting menu consisted of four dishes plus an amuse bouche and a desert. Three out of the four... More

Excellent. Went two nights running ! Service and presentation was outstanding just like the food. We had the tasting menu which was very good although the service was rather slow having tried the standard menu on the first evening. However, the standard menu was just packed full of flavours and was very innovative. Well worth a visit and not over... More
