Awesome steak, fish and wine

Service was great on our first night in Florence. We were tired and didn't want to walk around to find food. We had such a great meal and the host recommended a great local wine owned by a family he knew... it was one of the least expensive on the wine list and everyone was enjoying it! The sliced... read more

This restaurant is really lovely. We ate their twice when in Florence and both times the food and service was amazing. Really good food, well presented and delicious. We were well looked after by the restaurant staff and made to feel really welcome. Would really recommend this restaurant to anyone staying at the attached hotel and would advise that others... We were staying at the Athenaeum Hotel where the restaurant is located and decided to try it out. Suffice it to say that it was way below our expectations. Touted as 'fine dining' it's nowhere near it. First of all it took quite sometime for someone to take the order. And then another over half an hour before the food... More

We may have visited here on a bad day, it was raining very hard. The head waiter is charming but the food was tepid and nothing out of the ordinary. The wine list included local and expensive wine I chose local which was nice. The menu is limited which may suit some but not the more adventurous. Oddly, even though... More

I came to this restaurant which is inside hotel atheneum with a group of friends and we were treated extremely well. The food is delicious here. I recommend that if you visit Florence then go to eat at riflessi! :)

This is a restaurant inside the Athenaeum Hotel in a quieter area away from the main attractions. It is clean and smart and we were one of only two couples there early. The menu is limited, and this can be a good sign, as there is more attention to detail. The staff were clean, well presented and attentive. The bread... More

I was very pleased with the food and service at the restaurant. Don't be fooled by the bland façade, the place looks much better inside! Service was exceptional and the price, rather adequate. Not too expensive like some people claim it to be!

I went for dinner with my husband on recommendation of the hotel we were staying in. It's a little out of the way of all the hustle and bustle of the town, which I found quite refreshing. The waiters were really kind and friendly (not like the sulky waitresses we had the night before at Zaza) and the food was... More

Yesterday was our last night in Florence, so we chose riflessi after being recommended by our hosstess. Nice garden, charming fountain and friendly staff. We order an appetizer, zucchini flower, wich was tasty. I went for grilled vegetables, which were dull. My husband ordered cod wich was dreadful. Not only its taste and smell was awful ( our first mistake... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
