A really good supper for a sensible price in Florence. Friendly unhurried service. would recommend it.

We were having dinner at another restaurant nearby and saw Trattoria da Ginone and decided to check out the menu. The menu looked inviting so we decided to make a reservation for the following evening. We made a wise decision. The food and service were excellent as was the wine list. Prices were very reasonable compared to restaurants North of... More

Followed a recommendation from my hotel (crocini). I was looking for pici noodles and more rustic fare and was not disappointed. Place filled up by 7:30, so get there early. If you get there too early, like I did, there's a micro beer bar down the street with good stuff.

Wanted to finish our trip on a high note and chose this small restaurant because of the positive reviews and it was walking distance from our B&B. This is the kind of neighborhood place which nearly inspired me to look for a place to live in the area. Friendly service, comfortable rustic ambience and really good food. While just a... More

Enjoyed our dinner here - pasta with porcini mushrooms, grilled cheese (not a sandwich, a nice piece of cheese) with stuffed peppers, sides of spinach and white beans. All the food was excellent and a good house wine at a reasonable price. It was very busy and the waiter was working hard, but was still very nice to us.

Da Ginone was also recommended by our b&B as a good local place to eat. On our first night we were welcomed warmly and the waiter patiently explained the menu. I had Osso Bucco and SWMBO had spinach a ricotta ravioli with a truffle sauce. A glass or two of house wine each went down well. The hospitality and the... More

We visited after searching for restaurants close to our apartment and crossed our fingers that they would have a table available. Luckily we nabbed the last table. The waiter was very apologetic that it was so close to the door, but we didn't mind as it was a warm evening. Service was warm and friendly. We had the caprese salad,... More

Da Ginone was recommended by our hotel and what an excellent recommendation. The staff were genuinely welcoming, and patient, explaining the specials and differences to the main menu dishes. I plumped for the beef in red wine sauce, peppercorns with polenta. Wow! I scrounged a couple of my wifes roast potatoes with rosemary and that alone decided that we would... More

We came here on a recommendation and a check of the reviews on Tripadvisor. If you are looking for fast service, slick waiters and something upscale, look elsewhere. If you want local flavor, a slow dinner and chance to relax, then you will be fine here. The food is very reasonable for Florence and the menu pretty typical for the... More

Dropped in here one evening without a reservation and the owner said if we could wait 10 minutes that he would have a table. Had a very good meal here of pappardelle with pieces of cinghiagli (sometimes you get it like hamburger) so that made it even more special. Also had risotto with asparagus - very good and portions for... More
