Freshly Baked Yummyness

Found this yummy bakery while exploring a small alley in Florence. Perfect dessert after dinner. We have no idea what its called. But the delicious pie shaped pastries were calling us. One was an almond flaked custard filling. We found this nice but quite normal Then we tried the other. Wow! The... read more

Cantucci cookies can be bought even in supermarkets abroad nowadays, but they have nothing to share with the "real stuff" - nothing. (Same is true for those you can find at Italian supermarkets). If you want to try the best cantucci, you should definitely come to this shop. (just the cantucci - or other pastry: that cheap wine having "Santo"... More

So delicious. We found this hidden gem by pure luck, as we were walking the streets we could smell something amazing and we went straight inside. Everything we brought was eaten by the next day. Husband said its the best biscotti he has ever had!

Nice almond cantuccini!! The lady manning the store kindly offered us samples! We tried the almond, figs and walnuts, orange peel and choco drops, of which almond is our fave! We also bought the dark choco and hazelnut flavour. I guess the combi cannot go wrong! :) bought a lot in the end cos we thought it would be good... More

If you like to eat cantuccio by itself or with unsweetened espresso you may like these. I prefer to dip cantuccio in vin santo and the combo was too sweet for me. I tried three merchants in Florence so far and prefer less sweet ones with crunchy almonds. San Lorenzo's were soft with sugar crystals on the top and soft... More

If you want to taste cantuccini, the typical Tuscan cookies, this is the best place to go. They come in various flavours, yet the ones with chocolate and those with almond stood out for me. There are also other sweet delicacies to taste, such as a kind of soft pistachio flavored cookie (I can't seem to recall its name) that... More

So they are supposed to be open by 8:30 am CET time, but they are a little independent on two occasions went in the morning and then went back after lunch. Yeah, it was worth the effort, they are specialists and have big buckets of what americans call biscotti and other yummy cookies and a baker was shaping the logs... More

The taste of the biscuits were fresh. The lady offered some for trial. The prices were very reasonable. My rating is average because the taste was not for my liking

We have tried several bakeries in Florence. If you are looking for the best biscotti you will find it here. The are made fresh daily and have a tremendous assortment of flavors. They will let you sample them before you make your selection. It is located near the marketplace.
