Description: A stone's throw from the Ponte Vecchio, this gelateria opened up 1 month...
A stone's throw from the Ponte Vecchio, this gelateria opened up 1 month ago serves the perfect mint ice cream. The fior de panna (cream) and fresh mint leaves is nothing like your standard neon green industrial strength flavored mint ice creams. We went back (and again) to taste this hand crafted sublime delight.

A delightful gelateria not far from the Ponte Vecchio

This gelateria was recommended by an Italian, so we made a point of seeking it out. Delicious ice cream, plenty of flavours to choose from. I recommend the fig and the orange chocolate. Excellent.

This tiny little gelateria, hidden away in a little square is in stark contrast to the venues displaying garishly coloured mounds of gelato at the more tourist-friendly locations around the city. The gelato here was creamy and delicious and served in sensible (i.e. not American-sized) portions. Pistacchio gelato is a bit of a benchmark for me and it was top-notch... More

This small corner Gelato counter is the best there is in Florence. Flavors from Lemon to Mojito. Always our last stop of the night after dinner no matter where were coming from.

I don't get the big fuss over this place, to be honest. The neighborhood is great and the little piazza it's on is a nice place to enjoy, but the gelato itself didn't wow me. I also found it expensive...I know everyone says it's only a euro a scoop, but that works out to be much more pricey than comparable... More

My boyfriend and I were visiting the Boboli Gardens and we came across this small Gelateria on a side street. After attending a course, and learning about gelato, I knew this would be a good gelateria as the gelato was covered - this is done to store each flavour at its optimum temperature. I ordered a pot of oriental spice... More

The gelato was delicious, the line moved quickly, the area is great to sit and enjoy or to walk around. The staff there was very friendly too -- despite the line! Pistachio gelato was a standout!

We probably tried 10 different gelaterias during our 6 day visit in Florence and hands down, Gelateria della Passera was the freshest. Not only could I taste it in the pink grapefruit and peach gelato I ate, but I met the woman who supplies the gelateria with their fresh ingredients. They make it in house every day. If they don't... If I can just repeat the title here: fantastic ice cream beautiful place. Yes. We had an amazing time after a tough day walking up and down Florence. I'm so glad we stopped at this little hole in the wall. The ice cream was fantastic, very artisanal, very original, and the place just feels so relaxing. I'll be going back!

This gelateria has excellent gelato (try the albicocca or the mandorla). It is very small and there are no seats inside but it opens on the small but very pretty piazza della Passera where you can sit on benches and watch people. Follow with a drink at Ceffe' degli Artigiani on the piazza and literally across the street from the... More

On a tour back in Rome we had a very honest tour guide who gave us all the information we needed to know about food in Italy, as well as everything else that may come up. The tricks are to find a place off the beaten path, where the servers are typically the owners or family, and where the actual... More

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
