The food was ok but basic. There are better choices in the same price range and area. The staff where friendly but not very service minded. We had to repeat some requests several times before we got basic things like olive oil or water.

What a great find next to the Duomo. Very well priced, delicious food and a great, also well priced, wine selection. A lovely dinner al fresco while viewing the duomo.

Six of us went for an evening meal here. Unfortunately we had to sit inside as there were no free tables outside, but we still enjoyed ourselves. The wine and food is very reasonably priced and is very tasty, I would highly recommend. The service was friendly and quick also.

At outside overlooking the Duomo. Excellent meals for our whole group with really good service. Really enjoyed the baked gnocchi with gorganzola in olive oil. It was a first time for such a unique preparation and the flavors and textures were heavenly. It was our first meal on arrival to Italy and set a high bar.

Situated on Piazza Delle Bullet in the corner, this restaurant is a shining gem there to be discovered. I was there in a June evening for dinner where there were full of tourists and Italians, small or big groups. My Tuscan Ossobuco Risotto and Salat bowl with walnuts were simple delicious, not to mention the heavenly warm Chocolate cake with... More

On the outside area if you don't mind the heat (AND the b....y smokers!) you face the Duomo & watch the crowds shunt by..so near & yet they're not right on top of you! Beyond helpful, the waitperson was outstanding--even involved the chef for an opinion!. Every effort to see we had a wine to suit our tastes at the... More

This is a small restaurant with limited seating inside and a nice patio for outside dining. You are next to the Duomo and can see the church when eating on the outside patio. It seemed to be owner operated with delicious food and good service. My brother had the baked lasagne, his wife the entree grilled chicken salad, my wife had... More

Very typical tuscan restaurant on the Duomo side- just 50 feet from Duomo's wall! There is a real Dante's stone! Very good steak and tagliata. But a little bit top expensive...

My girlfriend and I were walking back to the hotel when we entered in a wine store, the guy recommended us this restaurant as a typical Italian Restaurant near the Duomo. No regrets! The food was great, the service was great (English speakers) and fast. I recommend the gnocchi with blue cheese sauce. It is beyond perfect! We will come... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
