Great Italian Restaurant

My girlfriend and I were walking back to the hotel when we entered in a wine store, the guy recommended us this restaurant as a typical Italian Restaurant near the Duomo. No regrets! My wife and I were walking around the Duomo looking for a place to eat and we saw this little place. It is the actual building Dante Alighieri lived in Florence.(At least it was written on the wall, I didn't check). Very good restaurant with original Tuscan food. The food we ordered was incredible. We had carpaccio for entrée and... More

My family made dinner reservations at Sasso di Dante after the restaurant was recommended to us by a local bartender. Our group of eight was pleased with all aspects of our dining experience, from wine to food and everything in between. The owner greeted us warmly at the door and was available throughout the meal for recommendations on food and... More

Simple. Bad food, bad wine and bad service. I could not recommend this place to anyone. Stayed in Florence for 8 days in this was the only bad meal I got!

We ended our day after returning to Florence from two days in Cinque Terre by eating supper here for the 2nd time in two weeks. Di Dante is tucked away in a little corner near the Duomo (it's easy to miss, but if you spot you'll probably want to stop for a glass (or bottle) of wine and bruschetta, etc).... More

in the heart of Florence next to the Duomo, the location is good. It offers a terrace the enjoy your lunch outside, and although it was a bit windy we were ok. The service however was slow, and the waitress was either very busy inside or not paying enough attention? Food was ok but nothing extraordinary, as you find in... More

Stopped by here for a late night dinner based on a recommendation from someone living nearby. While the food was decent, it was much more expensive than better restaurants not too far away. If you go, definitely get the Ribollita!

A really centrally located but tiny restaurant. Go early or book ahead! Wonderful platters of cured ham and mozzarella to start followed by an awesome tagliata. huge portions of perfectly cooked beef. Great wines.

After reading the reviews for Sasso Di Dante, we were looking forward to a nice meal for our last night in Florence. Close to our rental and just off Piazza del Duomo, we thought it would be a great find. We looked over the menu and made our choices. My uncle and son got the Lasagna and I decided on... More

In the middle of our visit to Florence, our guide recommended this restaurant for lunch (he reserved a table for us). Located right across from the Duomo and next to Dante's stone, the restaurant has a wonderful menu of authentic Italian food. Both of our pasta entrees were fantastic and tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The... More
