The line stretching out the door of mainly Italians (with a few tourists thrown in) convinced us that our dinner waiter's suggestion was likely a good one. Our first bites of Ricotta and Pear, Melon, Peach and Nocciola confirmed the choice. We have a high standard for ice cream - we live in Cambridge, MA so get to enjoy Toscaninni's... More

We spent 2 weeks travelling around Italy and both ate about 3 portions (including minimum of 2 different flavors in each portion) of gelato a day, so I assure you I know what I'm talking about. La Carraia was simply the best gelateria we visited in our journey, especially chocolate + tiramisu-mousse combo was to die for.

This has been a regular stopping point for me for many years. In particular, I always enjoy the 1 Euro gelato option (which is the lowest price I have ever seen in Italy) which includes a generous serving of gelato on a cone. This time, though, something seemed off. Maybe it was the missing mojito gelato (the only one I... More

Worth a long walk in the heat of the day, La Carraia is our firm favourite in this city of gelateria. Well priced with good sized serves, all the flavours we tried were fantastic though my personal favourite was the mango & coconut combo. Try it - you won't be disappointed!

This gelateria was recommended by the chef on my cooking class in Florence so I knew I had to pay it a visit. Wow! Amazing flavours and great value too!! It didn't disappoint. Thank you.

This place has more than 20 type of icecreams and the price is much better than what you would get on the other side of the Arno. You can get 1 taste good site portion for 1 EUR, and this is the portion we can eat, not more. Very nice staff as well.

A range of delicious ice cream, with the darkest dark chocolate ice cream i've ever seen. Certainly among the best gelato we had in Florence.

I am not an ice-cream "afficionado" but this ice-cream I could eat every day. The dark chocolate with sour-cherry just "exlpoded" in my mouth. Not to be missed.

I really liked this gelateria. Small in size, big in taste. And the locals are also seen here which is always a good sign. The gelato is creamy and one of the best limone and pistaccio I had when visiting Italy - and I had at least 2 gelatos every day!!!
