Amazing chocolate

This place we found just off the Piazza. Great handmade chocolates. Here we had tried a few different chocolates with hints of Earl Grey, nutmeg and chili.

Gelato seems to have been taken over by corporate entities even in Florence, so it is hard to find a place that does it the old way. Vestri is your best bet for the real thing. Only 8 or 10 flavors a day, each made on the premises daily. And they have chocolate! They source their own cacao and make... More

Stopped in to buy gifts to take home and did so successfully. However, so much more in the pure chocolate/hazelnut cup and the gelato. Note: we went to the Vestri just North of Santa Croce, but have no reason all are not as excellent.

Went in for chocolates for gifts - and got those - but the best was the gelato. We got the caramel on the recommendation of the server. He was so right. It was one of the best gelato that we had in Florence and we tried quite a few. Tiny place, easy to miss, but worth the stroll. And in... More

We had three flavors - hazelnut, pistachio and blueberry gelatos. The blueberry contained the actual berries, massive amounts of them, super fresh and tasty, blueberry being the main taste, sublime. The two nut flavors were chock full of the nuts themselves and tasted strongly and clearly of each nut - in other words, the hazelnut flavor was clearly and without... More

We went in for a look at the chocolates and ended up with gelato on a cone. Every version of gelato was chocolate and.... Yummy, tasty, decadent and more.

This place is the real deal! Gelato made right on the spot in the back. Flavors like Chocolate with chili pepper or earl grey tea were sublime. I would recommend finding this spot for sure...it will spoil you though!

I have been a regular to cioccolateria Vestri every summer when I come to Florence. They used to serve the best pistacchio ice cream made with pistacchios from Bronte, Sicily. Other flavors were excellent as well: nocciola made with hazelnuts from Piemonte; chocolate was one of their specialty as the original family business started in Arezzo as chocolate makers. Unfortunately... More

They have a waterfall wall of chocolate at the shop on Calzaiuoli, not to be missed. There is gelato, and all sorts of sweets to satisfy a sweet tooth... Prices are not too bad and they have great souvenir chocolates you can easily fit in the luggage!

Neighborhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
