Location: About 10 minutes on foot from the Duomo. Food: I stopped by because I had heard these guys were top notch for chocolate. Sadly, they had nothing in stock in the way of boxed assortments (their site lists several). In fact, the shelves were almost bare. I decided to go for gelato instead, but they only had a few... We could only sample so many while there, but this was our fave. And like someone else, it was recommended to us by a local. We asked the clerk in the grocery store for his fave, and he sent us to Vestri. That says a lot to me. And if you go...and if you see the blue benches outside with... More

Vestri is heaven for chocolate lovers. Their chocolate ice cream is rich and amazing--all the flavors are excellent, though I particularly like the chocolate with Sicilian orange and the chocolate with red (pinkish really, and relatively mild) pepper. Their hot chocolate is also amazing, thick and creamy, and in winter a cup of hot chocolate seasoned with red pepper is... More

This little shop was recommended to us by a local. It's chocolate & sweets shop that does fantastic gelato. Since they specialize in chocolate, their chocolate flavours are particularly amazing. I had the dark chocolate with Sicilian orange which was beyond delicious. Their pistachio & hazelnuts flavours were great too.

Lovely store, even lovelier packaging on their chocolate bars. Best gelato we had in Florence, too. A must-see! Cash only.

A tiny two-room cioccolateria, Vestri knows chocolate--bars, truffles, hot (calde), cold (gelato) and everything related (gifts abound). I would not go to Florence without a trip to Vestri! On this last visit, we purchased items to take home--several squares of varying single origin dark chocolates plus a package of mix to make cioccolata calde back home, when we are missing... More

Stopped here on the Taste Florence food tour, brilliant all natural Gelatto. Avoid the tourist trap gelato stalls on the main streets and seek this place out! Check out their local version of Nutella too....amazing!

We were told about Vestri by a friend who is a native Florentine and it is simply brilliant. The cioccolatini, the little chocolates, come in a wonderful range of flavours and the quality is superb; the largish box we bought for our son and his wife lasted only a few days( we are rationing ours to make the experience last).... When I went they only had a relatively small selection of flavours (about 8 or so) and lots of the interesting chocolate flavours were off the menu. The lady who served us was clearly in a bad mood. Granted, the ice cream was very nice, but I tasted better in Florence with more generous servings and better service.

We loved their creamy, delicious chocolate ice cream. There's a good selection of hand made chocolates too (but we only tasted the ice cream). Highly recommended!
