We were recommended to try the nearby Trattoria La Casalinga by our B & B but as this didn't open until 7pm we decided to try this place. We had a starter of bruschetta, mine had cheese, ham and salad on and my wife's had liver pate. It was good to see there were 3 on each plate and both... More

If you want to get away from the really touristy restaurants, try this one. It is small but pretty, and has a really authentic feel to it. The menu has the typical Tuscan dishes but they are presented well and are tasty. I had the pasta with the wild boar sauce and it was excellent and the dishes my friends... More

Not to be silly but I had the best meatballs at Gusta Osteria!! I can't remember the exact name of the dish, but it was recommended to me by the server. My friend and I had the best dinner. Fantastic wine, food and service! I cannot wait to bring my family here when they come at the end of my... More

Full of local clientele; unfussy, well-prepared fare. Excellent table wine (ah, Italy). We sat inside, but others enjoyed lunch al fresco, lingering over wine, then coffee, savoring the Spring afternoon.

We stumbled upon this restaurant on Easter Sunday. They were full inside, but we were immediately seated outdoors (it was a little chilly, but worth it). Our waitress spoke no English but was very patient and friendly...and we figured it out together. We ordered their preselected 4 course meal, and it was amazing...generous portions, good wine, excellent steak and friendly,... More

Pleasantly surprised. Fresh, homemade, tasty, and affordable. What more could you ask for. And on top of all that the service was friendly and excellent. Will definitely return.

Four of us had a fantastic Sunday lunch here. It isn't to be confused by a pizzeria of the same name! You have to walk a little further down the street to find it. A simple rustic charm greets you inside, not at all modern, but it doesn't need to be. Two of us had the tasting menu which was... More

we stayed around the corner and found it he first night in. The place is a popular haunt for students but also attarcts local tourists. Right from the start be prepapred to know your neighbour as you are usually sharing a table with another couple. This was actually fun and we met a couple of other tourists and enjoyed our... More

Finding a decently-priced restaurant with good food is always a challenge in Florence. (Perhaps it's just me.) Here, the service is very friendly, the setting is quaint, and the food's not bad, although nothing memorable. I had the ravioli with radicchio--a nice combination. The portion was smaller than I expected for 11 euros. Gusta Osteria seats about 20 people inside... More
