A great welcome...and very gracious as we tried out our really bad Italian. The gnocchi were [almost] as good as Mum's and the risotto with artichokes was amazing. Can't wait to get back to try the pasta marinara! More

Very welcoming restaurant for us solo travellers. Staff is friendly and helpful, and food is delicious. Two of my favorites are filet of sole and osso bucco, and the restaurant still has the best panna cotta in town! More

We live off/on for many years in Florence, Italy and at this point in a city of thousands of restaurants, it really comes down to a handful of delicious, typically Florentine and well run establishments. High on this list and we are far from being alone in this opinion...is the wonderful Il Pennello. We have just returned from Sunday Lunch... More

We stumbled across this place by accident and soon realized after looking it up in my guidebook that Pennello is the oldest trattoria in Firenze ! We ended up eating here twice. The food was not heavy and extremely fresh. They also don't charge the service charge. Had the tortellini and mmmmm....so good! More

Fantastic authentic Florentie dining experience - was recommended by a local and we are so glad we went. Menus in English and Italian, great service, YUMMMMMM food - MUST try the T-bone, Tiramisu, and the cappuccinos! More

We went there yesterday to celebrate new year. This place is not touristy and most customers are local, which is a good sign for travelers like us. The restaurant opened at 7pm sharp, so we stood outside for 40 minutes to wait for it to open. We were the first customer to sit, but soon the place was full with... More

All of the dishes (arugula, grilled vegetables, gnocchi, tagliatelle and tartuffo) were scrumptious.. The wait staff is friendly and multilingual. More

Waiter very nice, good english and good recommendations! We enjoyed the rice risotto with artichoke and the penne ragou. Both nice dishes. Then we had the beef slow roasted for 3 hours dish, and an aubergine plate covered in fresh tomato sauce and mozzarella. My favourite was the aubergine. My partner enjoyed his penne. The other dishes were simple and... More

My husband and I had there propably the best dinner during our stay in Firenze. We ordered bruschette, 2 pappa al pomodoro soups, penne with meat, spinach and ricotta ravioli, tiramisu & panna cotta for desert. Food was fresh and made of good quality ingredients. Great value for money, the bill with drinks and service was only 53€. Highly recommend... More

This little gem was excellent. The food was great, the atmosphere homey, and the Chianti excellente. Try the meringue desert, it was delish! My husband said this was the best meal so far on our honeymoon in Italy and we've been to Rome, the Amalfi Coast and Assisi already. More
