We stumbled across this place by accident and soon realized after looking it up in my guidebook that Pennello is the oldest trattoria in Firenze ! We ended up eating here twice. The food was not heavy and extremely fresh. They also don't charge the service charge. Had the tortellini and mmmmm....so good! More

My husband and I had there propably the best dinner during our stay in Firenze. We ordered bruschette, 2 pappa al pomodoro soups, penne with meat, spinach and ricotta ravioli, tiramisu & panna cotta for desert. Food was fresh and made of good quality ingredients. This little gem was excellent. The food was great, the atmosphere homey, and the Chianti excellente. Try the meringue desert, it was delish! My husband said this was the best meal so far on our honeymoon in Italy and we've been to Rome, the Amalfi Coast and Assisi already. More
