Pretty good for a residential area

Honestly only visited cause we were a little lost and couldn't find other good places around that area. Food was a little slow when it got busy but it was prepared with care. Wonderful reception every time with excellent dining experience. We encountered many Americans and Brits returning for visits that experienced this same helpful and hospitable dining experience.

We waited over 3 hours for our food on a Wednesday night. When we went in there were only 2 tables seated (granted one group was large with 8 people) but the other table only had 2 and our party had 3. We were seated, our drink order was placed and almost immediately the bottle of wine was brought. We... More

The food is good (but not gourmet) and the service is friendly (if only they had more than one copy of the english menu), but the experience was relaxing and enjoyable. I still rated it as excellent based on the price comparison with other restaurants in Florence. It was interesting to see that a number of locals pop in for... More

Excellent restaurant. Great staff. We had rented an apt literally across the street with another couple. Ate their 2x and had a great time on both occasions.

We were coming back from some wanderings in Florence and saw a sign which said, "trippo Fiorentina", tripe Florentine style - what a group - and resolved to return and try it that night. We found an amiable setting with a server who spoke English, and the restaurant also had an English menu of their greatest hits. we started off... More

We were staying next door to this Restaurant on Borgo Pinto and were following a recommendation. It is unlike the tourist industry eateries in central Florence and seems to rely very much on local trade. it was virtually empty on the night that we visited but we still had a very pleasant evening and the gnocchi was excellent as was... We liked the fact that this restaurant was very near to the apartment we were renting. The food is very good, good wine, and the prices very reasonable. It's a nice, quaint Italian restaurant with great service. Highly recommended.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
