Great steak

Great T bone steak cooked rare with baked potatoes in olive oil & rosemary. Lovely meal with a great carafe of local Tuscan red wine. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Following reviews on this site we went here for the famous Florentine steak and the steak was fabulous but the rest was disappointing. The place has no atmosphere , lights are bright and you felt like you were in a cafe. We ordered a Tuscany platter for starter which was a couple of slices of meat , we ordered a... More

We went to this restaurant in the knowledge it was a no nonsense establishment behind a butcher's shop - the advice was that the meat was excellent and... ...the meat was excellent. The restaurant is unprepossessing from the street and pretty basic inside - much bigger than expected though. We had the obligatory Florentine T-Bone which was delicious and a... More

We found this by chance after looking at the delicatessen next door. Momma gave us a card promising food cooked just like momma from the deli and so we decided to come back which we are so glad we did. Do not be fooled by appearances as whilst it looks a basic restaurant the food speaks volumes. As we were... More

Awesome home cooked Tuscan food, great service and honest prices - no tourist "cover/service charge". We found it on our last night but would have come back every night.

We enjoyed a very filling traditional vegetable bread soup, followed by arista, a sliced pork dish, served with potatoes roasted with rosemary. This was part of a set menu for €12, with a good choice of dishes. Excellent value. Superb service, very friendly restaurant. Hidden in a small street. Well worth looking for.

We (my brother, my girlfriend and I) had just gotten off the train and were going to walk around Florence for a few hours while waiting for other friends to show. It was close to lunch and walking by La Padellaccia, we were greeted by "mama" who ushered us in to the back. Mama is the chef while her son... More

Momma welcomed us in. We sat at a table for two in the coveted alleyway. Bring your bug spray for your legs as there are some Little biting things around as with any "outside" restaurant. My wife had a starter of ham and cheese with little puff balls. I had the black cabbage soup which isn't a soup at all... More

Perfect service, professionality and the staff is very kind. The first approach may probably don't be so much attractive from outside but, trust me, this is a very good place to spend time for a dinner and taste the real Cucina Toscana. The steak was awesome, with the possibility to choose the one you'll eat, specifically. Top rated
