Stumbled across this whilst wandering through the side streets. Best lunch of the entire holiday. Great service, polite, efficient & helpful. We both chose the dish of the day, which was Bream. It was cooked to perfection. Would definitely return

This was a very poor dining experience. Not a typical true trattoria feeling. Wine was expensive and poor quality. Food was very average in quality and portion size. No oil was offered. Vinegar on the table was poorest quality I have ever experienced. I had to retrieve Balsamico and olio myself. Service was not good either. This is not worth... More

I was attracted by the red and white tablecloths - clean tablecloths usually mean clean restaurant. Husband had the veal and was delighted with his choice. I had a combination of starters which was lovely. Would recommend.

After been walking around Firenze (Florence) for a whole day, it was perfect to sit down in the shadows of Trattoria La Madia. The waiters were very friendly and service minded, the foods very tasty and the suggestion of wine was excellent. We will definitely revisit

Totally loved it here in this Restaurant. Firstly, the usual lovely Italian service - and how they attended to our 7 year old first - I just love how Children Friendly it is in Italy (I'm comparing it to Switzerland!!). Caprese was lovely (9euro), scallopine with lemon lovely - but think they could add veg/potatoes especially when one charges 14... More

My friend and I were recommended this restaurant by our Segway tour guide on our second day in Florence and we were not disappointed when we went there for lunch on our last day. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. He explained that the fish of the day can be prepared in many ways however we like it. We both... More

My husband and I ate here on our last night in Florence because it was close to our hotel. The owner/manager (I assume) was SO nice and asked that we wait a few minutes for an outside table (which we requested) and that he would give us wine while waiting, free. He was so nice and personally sat us himself.... More

Lovely food sat outside on the pavement/road looking at the picture from many moons ago of Sophia Loren eating spaghetti there. Nice lively atmosphere.

The food at this restaurant was expensive and without doubt the worst food encountered in world travels to all seven continents. The rabbit dish was horrible. It had less than a gram of actual meat and consisted of nothing but fat, bone, and gristle. A complaint to the waitress only elicited a "I'm sorry" and we were charged for it... More
