A GREAT lunch!

We had to wait for twenty minutes to get a table but this place was full of locals and, though I'm sure that they would make you welcome regardless, they couldn't do enough for us as soon as they realised we spoke a bit of Italian. The food was superb. Not haute-cuisine but honest, beautifully... read more

Our visit to Osteria Dei Pazzi was truly a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The charming restaurant was welcoming, full of locals and had a great family atmosphere. For lunch we tried the tagliatelle al pesto e salsiccia and tartine di tartufo con parmigiano. Both were delicious but make sure you don't miss out on the one with... More

As the other reviews suggest, this is one of the truly outstanding osteria in Florence, a stone's throw from the Santa Croce. In fact there are three wonderful osteria close by -- this, de Benci and Simon Boccanegra -- which if you had three nights I'd go no further. dei Pazzi had superb very local fare -- spaghetti a carreteria... This is a good local restaurant to visit. The food is good and the service is friendly. The owner walks around and sings periodically. The restaurant is small, but that adds to the charm. If it's the weekend, I would recommend reservations, although were were lucky to get the a table without one.

Had lunch here while on a tour. There were eight of us and we were made very welcome. It was a very good lunch. Nice atmosphere, good food and wine and great travelling companions. The perfect combination.

The food continues to improve, and the service is second to none. In the evening reservations are a must. Everything on the menu is super but ask what is really fresh and exciting for the day. Ownership is always helpful, and sings quite well

Reservations Please! If you want to experience the Osteria de Pazzi, please make your reservation otherwise you will have to wait for over an hour or not be able to have a meal there. It's a small restaurant, the service is awesome and entertaining, the food is super fresh/tasty and delicious!

We were staying in Piazza Santa Croce and discovered this osteria while wandering through the area looking for a lunch spot. Upon entering, you immediately notice a simple Tuscan charm with the dining room full and the clientele apparently mostly locals. The ambiance was pleasant, with one of the staff either singing or whistling through most of our meal. Our... More

Osteria dei Pazzi oddly enough has been rated highly by TA members, and some local restaurant people I respect reportedly go there on their nights off. I ate there yesterday and found the service just awful, the bruschetta dull, and the pasta old and tired. My mistake for ordering lasagna--I should have expected that, but I have to say, the... In trying to end up away from the madding crowd of tourists, we ended up with a choice of 4 restaurants in a cross of two streets. Osteria Dei Pazzi won because it looked local rather than appealing to tourists and seemed to have a goodly number of residents taking lunch there. I had ravioli and grilled vegetables which was...
