We hopped into Osteria dei Pazzi completely by chance, and it ended up as one of the best restaurants we have been on our entire trip in Italy. The ambient is totally familiar with Paolo, the owner, being an excellent and cheery host, he will never pass by your table without chanting some traditional Italian songs on a full baritone... Chose this based on good reviews and recommendation from another who'd been previously. Went for a late lunch. My wife and I had the price fix menu, 16 euro, 3 courses. The bruschetta was very good, the tortellini with meat sauce was just ok. My wife's gnocchi pesto was just ok. The third course, chicken with spinach was good, but the... More

We came here while in Florence and it was our favorite. Luciano Castello recommended it so we knew it would be great. Ricardo was our server and he was very helpful as we do not speak Italian. He recommended his favorite pasta which was something with cheese on penne. I don't remember but it was incredible. We also ordered the... More

Seven of us arrived without a reservation, owner was very gracious about accommodating us. We had a variety of dishes, all yummy...gnocchi pesto, cinghiali pasta, whole fish, chicken and pork chop! Deserts were heavenly. Very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend!

Love this place -every time we visit Florence, we make at least 1 stop here. Paolo, the owner, & his staff are just a lot of fun - the best part is the food is great, too. The cheeses, grilled veggies, Ceci & Cannellini, soups & the Tagliata (grilled rare sliced steak) are fabulous. Paolo just makes it more fun,... More

Just few minutes from Santa Croce you can find this unique place. You can find almost everywhere in Florence good food, but in this place you will find entertainment while ordering and eating, menù and waiters are so funny! I ordered a delicious bistecca fiorentina, so juicy and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended

If you are in Florence, going here is not a maybe, you MUST go here. I randomly found a review from an English speaking student who was being taught Italian by the restaurants owner. The student now has a blog and wrote wonderful review about this restaurant and the friendly owner who sings and whistles while working. I have never... More

We had to wait for twenty minutes to get a table but this place was full of locals and, though I'm sure that they would make you welcome regardless, they couldn't do enough for us as soon as they realised we spoke a bit of Italian. The food was superb. Not haute-cuisine but honest, beautifully cooked, FLAVOURSOME, Italian food presented... More

Our visit to Osteria Dei Pazzi was truly a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The charming restaurant was welcoming, full of locals and had a great family atmosphere. For lunch we tried the tagliatelle al pesto e salsiccia and tartine di tartufo con parmigiano. Both were delicious but make sure you don't miss out on the one with... More

As the other reviews suggest, this is one of the truly outstanding osteria in Florence, a stone's throw from the Santa Croce. In fact there are three wonderful osteria close by -- this, de Benci and Simon Boccanegra -- which if you had three nights I'd go no further. dei Pazzi had superb very local fare -- spaghetti a carreteria...
