The Right Stuff

We twice had lunch at Mangiafuoco, my wife wife pici (a kind of thick spaghetti) with a creamy peppery sauce, and then tagliatelle al ragù, I tagliatelle al ragù (twice). This place knocked it out of the park! Went here with husband and friends. Ordered multiple plates and each was amazing. Go here to have a taste of Florence! I was so impressed with how fresh and delicious every bite was. Wonderful pastas, antipastos, meat dishes, wine. Lovely ambience. This place is so so good!!!

Good cooking, all fresh prepared, perfect seasoning, really Italian. Good friendly service. For starters spinach-ricotta ravioli: delicious with a perfect sauce and penne all'arrabiata perfect al dente with fresh cooked sauce, perfect taste. Main: lamb cutlets with mixed salad, perfectly fresh and delicious. We will call again!

Had the family in Florence for Christmas, had such a good experience we went there twice in three days. Good food, friendly service, varied menu - very local specialties and old favorites for the less adventurous (my older daughter!!) Turned my wife into a Spaghetti carbonara fan....I didn't think that was possible.

Me and my wife "landed" there by serendipity during our first night in Florence, both affected by slight seasonal fever. We have asked for one starter, two soup (despite ribollita can't be exactly classified as soup), rosted potatoes and garlic-flavoured spinach. We were very satisfied by the quality, amount and price of the traditional dishes we have found there.

We were so disappointed that we found this wonderful restaurant only on our last day in Florence! Of all the restaurants we dined in, it had the best atmosphere, and the Ribollita we tried there was to die for. Mangiafuoco will definitely be on our list the next time we visit Florence!

We stumbled upon this gem while heading to see the David. Small, quaint, and lit for a date. The soups are meals upon themselves. The minestrone was money! The vino Di casabrosa was smooth. We met the chef and she is as cool as a fan. So no place is perfect. There is an aroma from the plumbing when first... More

What a find... A small local Tuscan restaurant nestled away in the heart of Florence. Serving hearty local food with an affordable wine list, this restaurant is a must visit for those wanting to avoid the tourist traps. We had the Bruschetta, and then Taglietelli with wild boar sauce and the minestrone soup. Simply Devine! Food and a very nice... More

This is the kind of restaurant I was hoping to find in Florence. The food was authentic, delicious and fresh Italian. The menu selection was huge, the wait staff friendly and impressive desserts served "on fire"

Four of us had dinner twice at the Mangiafuoco during a recent visit to Florence. Everything about the restuarant was excellent. It is only a few minutes walk from The Duomo so very central. The staff were great, very welcoming and knowledgeable, as was the atmosphere in the restuarant. We had a wide variety of dishes over the two visits... More
