This is the kind of restaurant I was hoping to find in Florence. The food was authentic, delicious and fresh Italian. The menu selection was huge, the wait staff friendly and impressive desserts served "on fire"

Four of us had dinner twice at the Mangiafuoco during a recent visit to Florence. Everything about the restuarant was excellent. It is only a few minutes walk from The Duomo so very central. The staff were great, very welcoming and knowledgeable, as was the atmosphere in the restuarant. We had a wide variety of dishes over the two visits... More

We ate here for lunch today. On entering Daniella introduced herself and shook our hands. She was warm and friendly and really made us feel welcome. We ordered and food came in decent time and oh so delicious! We had bruschetta, 4 cheese pasta, tomato and basil spaghetti, grilled chicken and sliced beef with mushrooms. Buonissimo! And reasonbly priced dishes.... More

You just get the impression they care so much about the food and wine and service that they've forgotten details so exactly as other reviewers have said - don't be put off by location, decor, dress sense of staff. It just works. We sent back the first sparking wine and an excellent prosecco was produced without a second thought. Crostini... More

Found on trip advisor but the $ amount indicator said $$$$ so didn't want to go. Then we couldn't find our other option and it was raining. We stopped in a doorway and it was right there! Upon checking the menu found the prices were very cheap and went in. At 7pm Sunday, table straight away, bread, mineral water ordered... More

Wandering the back streets one evening in Florence we came across Mangiafuoco. What a find, great food, not aimed at the tourist as many restaurants here are. Don't let first impressions put you off, the quirky decor and friendly staff made it our favourite place to eat in Florence. Great food at a reasonable price too.

Enjoyed the restaurant but would go to others before going back. Waiter was somewhat indifferent and the food although tasty didn't seem as fresh as it should have been. We both had fish and although the waiter quite carefully de-boned it, it was still a lot of work for small serving. Looks like many classical Florence Restaurants but overall average.

Always in search of authentic Italian food and because of my revulsion to restaurants that cater to tourists I found Mangiafuoco. What a wonderful find. This terrific restaurant is off the beaten path of tourists and down the side street of Via Guelfa in Florence. The food was terrific and the service was very attentive and friendly. The owner of...
