Good food but service a little mixed

Good menu, well cooked. Some confusion in the ordering because of shaky English. My Italian's not great but maybe would have been clearer. Nice atmosphere and friendly.

This restaurant was around the corner from our hotel in Florence and the hotel staff recommended it to us!! Very reasonable prices and delicious-- not to mention good service. Would have gone back but we wanted to try different places. Highly recommend!!

The food and great service at this restaurant was so impressive that we had to eat here twice during our 5 day visit to Florence. Florentine steak is a great dish in many restaurants, but we liked the presentation at Mangiafuoco, whereby the steak was carved table side and stacked on top of the bone to allow you to then... Usually we can rely on reviews and consumer ratings but this time they got it wrong. Maybe the cook was having a bad day, maybe it was a new cook.... Either way, the food was barely average, bland and overcooked. Pork chops and chicken breasts are not that hard to cook so that they are not tough and dry. The... More

We twice had lunch at Mangiafuoco, my wife wife pici (a kind of thick spaghetti) with a creamy peppery sauce, and then tagliatelle al ragù, I tagliatelle al ragù (twice). With it we drank a glass of Chianti riserva each. The ragù was outstanding, the pasta being freshly made. Pici and Chianti were excellent. Espressos, and a very good grappa... More

This place knocked it out of the park! Went here with husband and friends. Ordered multiple plates and each was amazing. Go here to have a taste of Florence! I was so impressed with how fresh and delicious every bite was. Wonderful pastas, antipastos, meat dishes, wine. Lovely ambience. This place is so so good!!!

Good cooking, all fresh prepared, perfect seasoning, really Italian. Good friendly service. For starters spinach-ricotta ravioli: delicious with a perfect sauce and penne all'arrabiata perfect al dente with fresh cooked sauce, perfect taste. Main: lamb cutlets with mixed salad, perfectly fresh and delicious. We will call again!

Had the family in Florence for Christmas, had such a good experience we went there twice in three days. Good food, friendly service, varied menu - very local specialties and old favorites for the less adventurous (my older daughter!!) Turned my wife into a Spaghetti carbonara fan....I didn't think that was possible.

Me and my wife "landed" there by serendipity during our first night in Florence, both affected by slight seasonal fever. We have asked for one starter, two soup (despite ribollita can't be exactly classified as soup), rosted potatoes and garlic-flavoured spinach. We were very satisfied by the quality, amount and price of the traditional dishes we have found there.
