Firstly, I have to say that this is the best meal I had in Florence. I am not kidding. I am Italian and believe it or not, this is my first time in Florence. Please just order the "tortellini with pecorino, pere e noci". There is no limit to the fragrance, simplicity and mix of flavors of this plate. Just... More

I went there with my friends when we were on a school trip in Florence. We wanted to eat something typical and we saw this restaurant. We were immediately attracted because it seemed really familiar and cosy. The restaurant is quite big and nice, the waiters are kind and familiar an of course the food is fantastic. I ate gnocchi... I have been staying in Italy alone for many weeks now and have been eating my way through the country. This was by far the most delicious, decently priced, authentic Italian food I have eaten yet. (I went back twice). I had a sheep cheese ravioli in a creamy pear and walnut sauce which was delicious and then a shrimp... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and were glad we went. We ate inside and it had a lot of character. We were given a welcome drink, complimentary. We started with the fried brie in truffle oil and loved it. I had the 2 pound steak florentine and ate every bit of it. The prices were very reasonable. We were given... More

A friend in Florence recommended the Osteria del Porcellino when I was visiting in December 2013. I went at least four times on that trip because the food was so good and the service was outstanding. I brought my fifteen year old daughter and my sister to Florence is June (2014) and we went to Porcellino for another two meals.... More

I had the swordfish carpaccio and eggplant parm (their version). Both were delicious and relatively inexpensive for Florence.

Typical Italian food very yummy in a nice Italian style ambient. Not a tourist catcher in my eyes so you can expect good food

Our first meal in Florence. Every one was a bit jet-lagged. So didn't enjoy as much as we might have. Very quaint, great location, excellent service, delicious pasta and house Chianti was excellent.

Although most of the reviews are very favorable, this is far from the best restaurant in Florence, unless the reviewers prefer McDonalds. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and decided to dine outside, although the evening was quite warm. Service was slow and indifferent and the food was average, at best. The waiter was not around most of... More

Yesterday I had lunch in this well-located restaurant in downtown Florence, sitting outside watching the tourists go by. I had some Chianti and gnocchi, both admittedly delicious. However, to be honest, I could have eaten two or three of those. I guess that wouldn't be considered too fancy though. The service was excellent and the atmosphere very pleasant. I recommend... More
