We always go back to this authentic Tuscan restaurant while in Florence. The food is among the best we've had, service is wonderful and the atmosphere cozy and friendly. The location is within steps of the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio, easily walked even at night. Be sure to make reservations.

Lunch was great. I had the gnocchi, the wife had a spicy ziti pasta dish and our daughter had the ribolita (bean soup thickened with bread). All the dishes were great. The house chianti was also good. The service was excellent and the staff friendly. Only a short wait to be seated.

I cant say enough about this place! Enzo the owner and his family were SO amazing and accommodating. The food is incredible and the house wine was out of this world! They make it themselves at their family winery in Tuscany. We loved this place so much we went back for a total of 2 dinners in Florence. We are... More

On our first night of three in Florence, our hotel strongly encouraged us to go to this restaurant. I genuinely do not feel it was due to any 'kick-back' - and, we were most pleased with their suggestion. So much so, we came very close to eating there again before leaving Florence. As we try to do whenever weather and... More

Recommended by our hotel but poor service although food was good. It was the only restaurant we ate at in 18 days in Italy where they gave us the bill without asking if we wanted desert & coffee. I think they wanted to use the table & maybe we weren’t spending enough? We entered the restaurant at 7pm- very early... More

During our short break to Florence with friends, this was everyone's favourite place that we visited for an evening meal. The staff were convivial and helpful, the food we had was excellent ... The Florentine steak was so tasty (make sure you like it rare though) as were both the Wild Boar and Beef stews. Then spinach and vegetable side... More

With so many restaurants to chose from, I feel lucky to have found Enzo and his restaurant, Osteria Del Porcellino. The food was delicious, fresh and reasonably priced and the location can't be beat - just behind the Straw Market with it's famous bronze boar. Pet the boar's snout and leave a coin to insure your return to Florence, and... More

The size of the courses are generous. If you follow the Italian tradition of an starter, Primi Piatti, Secondi Piatti, then you could be in trouble. We both struggled because we got carried away on the ordering. Maybe think about sharing a starter? Bad point was that they had no Limoncello - some say that's a sin but....

Staying in Uffizi

Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
