Can be good

The hors d'oeuvres we got were great - good risotto and ravioli. The main course was a T-bone, which had good flavor but was inconsistently cooked. The outside was medium, as requested, but the inside was rare. The service was only ok and we left without ever being sure who our server was.

First things first: I am Italian, born and raised in Rome. The meal "had" at this restaurant (fooled by the positive reviews here on TripAdvisor) was the worst I've ever "had". 1. Food was awful. - The appetizers, supposedly a plate for two, consisted of three pieces of ham and two mini bruschette. Only positive thing was the deep-fried brie.... More

We were staying in central Florence close to this restaurant, so the easy walking got us there in the first place. We so enjoyed the easy atmosphere and great local food that we went back, eager to try other dishes! Both visits, one with a reservation, one as walk ins were faultless, wine was super and staff remarkable as the... More

Ate here as a party of 8. Recommended by our hotel clerk. Fantastic meal. I had the meat las lasagna followed by Ossmo buco. Best I ever had.

another great find for us after a long day in Florence. We got there early and without a reservation, but had no problem getting in. Packed full of locals after 8pm. Food was very good. Nice staff. Wine selections erred on the pricier side and would have liked to see more inexpensive options. I ordered the house red and was... More

We were in search for traditional Tuscan dishes. We started off with Brie Fritto Al Sesamo Tartufa (brie coated with sesame seed and fried in olive oil). It was our favorite dish. Crunchy on the outside and melted cheese on the inside. For our main entrees, we ordered the lasagna al forgo (oven baked lasagna with beef) and Pici Sull'anatra... More

Excellent place! With very nice service and Italian food like you never eaten before. It s location is very central, but away from the big flow of tourists. If you do not know what to take, try the gnocchi and the Tiramisu ! You will not be disappointed.

We had been told of this restaurant by a friend before our trip and made reservations before we left home for Florence. On our first day, our guide said we were welcome to eat at any of the local establishments but if we wanted her recommendation she would take us to what she considered the very best restaurant. Imagine our... More

Osteria del Porcellino was the best restaurant we visited on our two week journey in Italy. The staff was very helpful and even though the restaurant was very busy we did not feel rushed. We loved the ambience and the food and wine were unbelievable. Great prices too!
