Enjoyable Lunch

Our guide recommended Osteria del Pocellino for lunch for us. It was air conditioned, which was a big plus, since it was so hot in Florence, and they spoke very good English. I have an allergy to pepper and they were very accommodating in making me risotto milanese without pepper. I don't remember... read more

I was told that this was a very good restaurant. Little did I know I could have eaten here every night! The food was very good-I had the pasta with pears and pine nuts with a cream sauce. Delightful! The staff was great and the location is in the heart of Florence. Very close to the boar where you rub... More

My family chose this restaurant as a place for last dinner in beautiful Florence. However it turned out to become a complete disaster that spoiled our last evening because of awful service that one of the waiters showed us. Firstly after my father asked for white wine the waiter did not change our glasses (with form that was for red... More

Food good but not memorable. We were a couple on a kind of romantic date ( as far as it can be after several years of marriage and children!) Staff ok but: they did not bring a salad (they just forgot) but we did not insist/mind as we ordered enough. At the moment of the bill we noticed that they charged... More

Fine pavement dining a short walk from the Piazza della Republica. Recommended by our hotel and did not disappoint. Very nice food at very reasonable price, right in the centre of Florence, not far from Mercato Nuovo, where the bronze pig is located. Actually a wild boar! Very nice little restaurant with authentic Italian food and friendly service. Smashing!

Food was okay, but pretty expensive. Very touristy area so probably to be expected. We had a few starters which were fine, and then pasta courses. It was quite expensive with just a few drinks, about €120 euro's for 4. Definitely the most expensive meal of our holiday and definitely not the best. Get the spritz to drink!

The restaurant is located only 5 minutes walk from Piazzale Signoria or Ponte Vecchio. This restaurant doesn't have much selections but any of the food will meet with your satisfaction. They also serve local pasta called pici which, to us Japanese, looks like Japanese noodle 'Udon'. The steak with balsamic vinegar is also nice.

Nice enough little place. Was recommended by a friend upon learning we were in Florence. Outdoor seating was not available but lovely ambiance inside. Nice menu, always enjoy a pre-meal cocktail and post meal limoncello on the house. Service was good, cured ham and melon was outstanding. enjoyed the lasagna and gnocchi, also TAGLIATA DI MANZO RUCOLA E GRANA was... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our apartment host when we arrived in Firenze - he couldn't recommend it enough! He was definitely right. We arrived at around 9pm (late by my in-laws standards) and were greeted by their lovely wait staff and aperitif. We all ordered entree, main and dessert. All of which were EXCELLENT and a little... Neighborhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
