A great lunch at an excellent price

A great place to go and enjoy a lovely lunch at great price. I would call it simple authentic Italian food at its best. Great place, quick service, and yummy food. We had this place recommended by a local as it's not the normal tourist place and we really enjoyed it.

We just happened upon this spot and are pleased that we did! Outside seating on a relatively quiet street, courteous service, and fantastic regional beers! Great pizza too, and free quality wifi. I wouldn't have expected to find such a good and reasonably priced place so close to major attractions.

Found this place walking from the Accademia towards the Duomo. 4 of us went in for lunch. The staff was very nice and the food was very good. A lot of locals there eating lunch. We went back another day and had another good meal. Check it out, you won't be sorry you did!

We found this restaurant quite by chance walking from the Duomo to the Accademia and are very grateful that we did. Its an unpretentious locals restaurant with excellent staff and even better food.addition the house wine was some of the best that we have enjoyed in our travels in Italy. Our mains were Tortiglioni gorgonzola e yucca gialla and Pasts... More

Great little place. In fact, wow! It is quite close to the Duomo - a couple of hundred metres' walk, I suppose. They could have ripped us off, they could have served us cr*p food for the price (€23 for the two of us for lunch) and they could have treated us like a couple of British tourists. But they... More

My husband stopped by here after our visit to the Accademia and we are so happy to have stumbled upon this place! The service was fast and friendly and the food and wine was excellent! We ordered a caprese for an appetizer, half liter of house white wine and 2 plates of pasta- all of it so good! The steaming... More

We stopped in with friends for gelato and cocktails after visiting the Duomo. I wish we would have been there for supper - they were in the process of making their sauce for the next day and it smelled divine!!! The gelato was delicious and they had a quaint little seating area outside. The staff was very friendly.

Found this place by accident. It is in a small side street and has a few tables outside under canopies. It looks very basic but the food is home made daily and very fresh. The menu also changes daily but you can have various pastas, salads and meats of good quality served very promptly by charming waitresses. We ate there... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
