we Fell in love with Florence and Il Santino

I don't know how to do this place justice…. My partner and I did a mini tour of Italy and stopped off in Florence for four nights. (We went to Il Santino everyday we were in Florence) The owner of the B&B we stayed at recommended Il Santino's sister restaurant but stumbled across this fabulous... read more

Stopped into this place for a couple of glasses of wine and some nibbles. Beautiful wine, well presented high quality food. Nice spot to pass a bit of time. Not a lot of seating so be warned

Four of us grabbed the last seats on a December evening - and it took about 4 minutes before my husband said "this is the perfect wine bar - I want to own one." Well, that's not going to happen, but we would come back here in a minute. Great staff working in a tiny space. Great wine selections, with... More

I loved this little spot for a very tasty lunch. It was a small shop and we sat at the bar to enjoy watching the food preparation. The food was excellent. Meats, cheeses, and pappa al pomodoro. Very friendly waiter and we caught it in a non busy time so he was able and willing to translate and describe the... More

I found this small niche place in my neighborhood when I first arrived in Florence and returned again and again...often eating at the bar in the late afternoon to the company of the staff preparing the freshest of food combinations as my entertainment. (Easy to make my choice with their creative work on display.) I especially enjoyed barstool-dancing on a... More

3 things in travelling life need to be fulfilled and this place fulfilled each of them. Meats. Cheese. Wine. Cosied up in a corner in this empty place at 6pm we had reached our Bethlehem of needs. All of which were met with friendly service and a little bit of chat about what we were up to and how we... More

Il Santino is a perfect little wine bar. Located in the Oltrarno next door to it's sister restaurant (Il Santo Bevitore), the spot is tiny and cozy. The staff was great - bringing out free apps - and the wine list was solid. If you are heading to Il Santo Bevitore, or any other restaurant in the area, hit Il... More

Great little wine bar, cafe that is the little sister to the larger restaurant enterprise next door. Food is available from short menu and essentially reheated here (that is okay). I have the meatballs and a glass on chianti for a bout 16 euros, which was twice what I paid up the street at a trattoria, that I recently reviewed.... More

We were staying 50feet away and only ended up going on our last night in florence having passed it 20 times coming in and out of the apartment. Its a wine bar/deli which is about 20foot square and seat maybe 20 people. All the wines come accompanied with a small plate of italian meats/cheese/bruschetta etc. As its busy they bring... More

A very small venue, approximately 12-14 seats at the most. Nice lively atmosphere with people spilling on to the street to sit on the pavement (the ground!) We had 2 sparkling Chardonnays, it was meant to be 125ml but was in fact less. One was considerably larger than the other. Total €15.00 for 2 drinks! Which we had to drink... More
