very central, very kind people, rather good food. But...: beware, bill can be quite a surprise, as they do not itemize the bill, they only show you the final sum. so, you can have some surprise, expecially on wines, and on some quantities. beware on these items, keep track of what you ordered, quantities and prices mentioned. This is expecially... More

We came here after a trip to the duomo, about a 5 to 10 minute walk. We made it right around 3:00, when the restaurant stops serving lunch. Nonetheless, the proprietor took the time to discuss recommendations. The food was very good. The atmosphere was not fancy but intimate. The kids (ages 11 and 14), wife and I agree this... More

On our recent trip to Italy, my wife and I found this small, family run restaurant just a few yards off the main streets of old Firenze. Initially we were a little concerned since the menu was entirely in Italian; however, the wife/owner quickly put us at ease and walked us through the menu. Everything was home made, traditional Tuscan... More

Not for seeker of fast or ACME food A totally classic family managed ristorante with original tuscan dishes Very friendly service and great taste of traditional " cuccina fiorentina " but also possibility of fish dishes sometime difficult to find in the heart of toscana I did also appreciate the zenitude of the director toward "very special tourists"

Just round the corner from the Duomo, this friendly, family run restaurant was really nice. We liked their philosophy of only printing the menus in Italian. They say this makes them feel more of an Italian restaurant, but also encourages them to talk to visitors about the food. We had their special menu. My first course was a delicious sausage... More

We wanted a simple, quick Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed by this small gem of a trattoria. The atmosphere is great, the service from the family was attentive and good humoured and the traditional Tuscan food was very good. Had we been in Florence longer we would have gone back again. This restaurant also has the benefit of... More

We arrived for lunch after a long walk around Florence. We were recommended to try this restaurant by a knowledgeable friend . His recommendation was more than correct. It really is special. Locals were eating there. The food was straight forward the right volume and so tasty. Staff attention was appropriate. It was a pity we could not return for... More

We, 2 couples, had enjoyed pre-drinks and tibits elsewhere so we strolled into this very authentic looking Florence trattoria. Initially we were told only the back room tables were available, but being quite late we waited in that area, whilst a table was made available with other customers finishing their meal. Glad we did so, as the 2 or 3... More

traditional tuscan cooking, km0, which means fresh vegetables and meat coming from nearby farms. Good biological red wine. A tendency to over cook, in my opinion. lots of vegetables, all strictly in season. it seems very reliable. Few steps away from Santa Maria del Fiore (il duomo), to me it was a refreshing pause after a full day working. A... More

We went back a couple of times during our long stay in Firenze despite so much on offer in the Centro Storico. Charming atmosphere and with great food, it was the obliging and attentive service from "staff" who obviously the owners that sealed the deal. On one visit it looked like the family "nonna" was also on duty exhibiting a... More
