For us, a vacation to Florence always includes at least a couple of dinners at Ristorante il Paiolo, on Via Corso. We love this place and think owner Caterina is one of the best chefs in the city. She always cooks seasonal dishes and her menu has specialties you won’t find anywhere else. One night we ate a delicious chestnut... More

We ate here on a whim. I liked the look of the food in the window. We didn't understand the menu but the guys at the table behind us told us to just tell the "lady" what you want and she'll make it for you or she will suggest something. So we did. I saw risotto on the menu and... More

I loved this place, staff was really professional and food quite good (especially the dessert). I did not try the famus Fiorentina, I had nobody to share that with. The only remark is that it is a bit expensive. Salad, dessert, tagliata and wine nearly 50 euros :(

At first my mother and I were a little apprehensive as the menu was entirely in Italian and we were worries to order, but the staff speak fabulous English (as well as Spanish and German) and provided us with a wonderfully light pesto tagliatelle and a flavoursome (but not too salty!) risotto. The atmosphere was calm and quiet, despite there... More

Healthy selection of food. We had the baked mussels which was wonderful. Great selection for vegetarians as well. Bill is not itemized so keep track of the price of the items ordered to be sure. The staff is friendly, it is family run.

The restaurant has no pizza or red meat. However, there are plenty of wonderful seafood dishes, great salad choices and kinds of savory vegetable options. Great service and friendly/attentive staff. We ate there twice while we were in Florence. Nice change from endless quantity of pasta and pizza

very central, very kind people, rather good food. But...: beware, bill can be quite a surprise, as they do not itemize the bill, they only show you the final sum. so, you can have some surprise, expecially on wines, and on some quantities. beware on these items, keep track of what you ordered, quantities and prices mentioned. This is expecially... More

We came here after a trip to the duomo, about a 5 to 10 minute walk. We made it right around 3:00, when the restaurant stops serving lunch. Nonetheless, the proprietor took the time to discuss recommendations. The food was very good. The atmosphere was not fancy but intimate. The kids (ages 11 and 14), wife and I agree this... More

On our recent trip to Italy, my wife and I found this small, family run restaurant just a few yards off the main streets of old Firenze. Initially we were a little concerned since the menu was entirely in Italian; however, the wife/owner quickly put us at ease and walked us through the menu. Everything was home made, traditional Tuscan... More
