Ambiance OK- Food Great

I have been here a few times and when I first entered, I did not really like the setting. It is a wide open dining area, with brightly painted walls and bright lights. I tend to like a little more romantic. However, the food is wonderful - and that is what really matters, especially if you are... read more

As a general rule I avoid eating in the center of Florence but we had just left the museum and wanted a small meal. The prices were good, the meal was better than average and the service was excellent. It was a happy accident

Went on the recommendation of a local Carabinieri officer, and we were not disappointed. Everything was excellent; stuffed calamari and salmon carpaccio on arugula appetizers, sausage and beans, ravioli with meat sauce, and mixed seafood pasta. Good portions, and reasonable prices for the quality of the food. The owner, Roberto, came out from the kitchen to make sure everything was... More

We went there on the out standing reviews seen on trip advisor. We asked the waiter for any recommendations and to which he's dismissively said "all of it " The starters we ordered were simple bruschetta and this was decent so we had high high expectations for mains. Unfortunately the cuttle fish risotto was inedible and could not be even... More

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant after reading some good reviews on Trip Advisor. Unfortunately, our experience was not good at all. Firstly, the service offered to locals is different to that offered to foreigners. The chef speaks to Italians personally and will recommend meals to them, but won't even bother greeting a foreigner. Secondly, the food... More

We decided to visit this restaurant as a result of good trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed! We arrived just before 8 in the evening and the restaurant was empty so needless to say we were a little unsure! We ordered a couple of starters, florentine steak to share with a couple if side orders and a bottle of... More

As we were travelling to Italy, my family wanted to sample the true Italian cooking from a good restaurant. My local friend brought us to this small, unassuming trattoria on a small road in Florence near Piazza della Signoria. But, don't be fooled by the looks of this restaurant. That night, we let the chef himself recommend us the food... More

We went here in the spring--just stumbled off the street looking for somewhere to eat. We were the only non-locals there and were treated with great friendliness. The ribollita and bean soup were particularly memorable: good family-style Italian food.

We stumbled on Trattoria Roberto accidentally as we came out of the Uffizi Gallery. You can easily walk past it as it has rather a dark front window, and by no means is a glamorous locale nor are there any coloured photos of meals or spruikers outside. Inside is old-fashioned and rather a dowdy affair. But the food is very... More

We went to Roberto's place due to recommendation of local bakery. Place looks pretty uninvitational - nothing seems to change here since '50 -ties last century. They do not even serve beer.... Anyhow if you are looking for place with a charm and elegance - forget about Roberto's and go somewhere else. But the food ... very simple but done... More
