We've been here for lunch and only the price was worth the name "Restaurant". There was no welcome when we entered inside. The waiter didn't explain the menu even if I asked him to do so, even he said us "they're all described in the menu, just read it", but actually the dishes were described with the name of location... My wife and I made sure this would be our first meal in Florence, since we ate here (twice) when last in Florence two years ago. This time I had wild boar for my main, and my wife had lemon pasta with prawns - both rated 10 out of 10. The wine, which we selected from the three reds that... More

il Profeta has been a family run local restaurant in Florence for over 30 years. It changed hands a few years ago with no change in food or hospitality. Great Tuscan fare with super antipasti, pasta and grilled and sauted meats and fish. But the best part is the family who greets you like a long lost friend (the first... More

We came here on the recommendation of our hotel. It was a very good meal. Great service. If you are willing to pay for an expensive meal, definitely a place to try. Although the food was great, a little more expensive than it should be. However, I would come back the next time I am in Florence.

23 of us descended upon Claudio and his hard-working staff and they catered to each one of us. The food was delectable! Be sure and try the pear ravioli. I had no interest when I read the description, but it turned out to be the best dish I had on our recent trip to Italy. Our children were enamored with... More

Delightful waiter, Martin. Entertaining and fun in his presentation, and spot on in terms of recommendations that worked for us. Another couple here has been coming to this restaurant faithfully over the last 6 years on every trip to Florence. We'll be back!

The most decadent dinner I had in Italy. So creamy and homey and yummy. I had the John Travolta special, which was like a creamy vodka sauce but it was the perfectly cooked pasta and not just the sauce that made it special. My best friend ordered the other special pasta, a truffle pasta with béchamel served in a parmesan... More

We went as a family and the food is good, not exceptional. When you think of the traditional pasta or steak done well this would be it. The service is very attentive but a bit over done. The restaurant is pricey for what you're getting.

I had the "John Travolta," which the waiter would not describe: "it's a secret." Well, it's like six looped noodles in an admittedly very flavorful pink sauce, though it's a bit too salty. No cheese. No Parmesan, even on request. No mozzarella. 29.5 Euros! Unbelievable. At 10 Euros, it would be "good" to, at best, "very good." Salty. They gave... More

We heard a lot about this restaurant before we came, we were very happy we made it here. The service is outstanding. Not only are they attentive and knowledgeable but they are so friendly and a lot of fun. The food was absolutely terrific, especially the john travolta pasta. My only criticism would be that it is expensive! The pasta... More
