Great Tuscano food experience. Restaurant and waiter takes pride in what they prepared. Most friendly waiter we have met so far. Will definitely be back for more...... (A bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it)

While recommended by the St. Regis hotel, the food was terrific. While we ordered 3 courses, they delivered 5. One of the extras was what they called the "John Travolta" which had a sauce that was amazing! The bread was the best we had in the area and olive oil was local and delicious. The service was excellent. And the... More

We were extremely lucky to bump into this restaurant. We had really good high quality food in Florence during our 4 nights stay in October, but Il Profeta is by far the best. We even decided to come back on our last night in the city, to try the other dishes, rather than experiment new restaurants. The service is excellent,... More

Some amazing food. The best bread in the area and olive oil. Great soups. Excellent service. We ate here a few times while in Florence. Nice relaxed atmosphere.

We happened upon this restaurant looking for a place to have dinner one evening. It's a family run restaurant with a interesting menu. We fell into the "tourist trap" and we ordered a medieval Tuscan menu each expecting a full two or three course meal. Sadly it was one very expensive and very small dish which was presented to us... We've been here for lunch and only the price was worth the name "Restaurant". There was no welcome when we entered inside. The waiter didn't explain the menu even if I asked him to do so, even he said us "they're all described in the menu, just read it", but actually the dishes were described with the name of location... My wife and I made sure this would be our first meal in Florence, since we ate here (twice) when last in Florence two years ago. This time I had wild boar for my main, and my wife had lemon pasta with prawns - both rated 10 out of 10. The wine, which we selected from the three reds that... More

il Profeta has been a family run local restaurant in Florence for over 30 years. It changed hands a few years ago with no change in food or hospitality. Great Tuscan fare with super antipasti, pasta and grilled and sauted meats and fish. But the best part is the family who greets you like a long lost friend (the first... More

We came here on the recommendation of our hotel. It was a very good meal. Great service. If you are willing to pay for an expensive meal, definitely a place to try. Although the food was great, a little more expensive than it should be. However, I would come back the next time I am in Florence.

23 of us descended upon Claudio and his hard-working staff and they catered to each one of us. The food was delectable! Be sure and try the pear ravioli. I had no interest when I read the description, but it turned out to be the best dish I had on our recent trip to Italy. Our children were enamored with... More
