Superb Restaurant in Florence

We were rushing to the train station and still dizzy from Il Duomo. Dashed in here for a quick bite. Truly amazing! Really friendly staff. Owner sat us down and gave us 2 glasses of superb white! Fed our 5 children (6-12) and gave us a great deal. Recommended antipasta for us and quick pasta for... read more

The setting is nice and the waiter was cordial, but the food was nothing to brag about and the prices are extremly high compared to several other nearby restaurants with better food.

We found this website as a recommendation of the hotel and I saw quite a lot of positive feedback here on Tripadvisor. The restaurant is located in a small street a little outside the center of Florence. The reception was very friendly....however I found a little too friendly. We received the card and already one remark..... everything was translated in... More

We came to this restaraunt after receiving a recommendation from my daughter's semester abroad friends. It was a lovely, traditional Italian cafe with a lovely menu. I had the legendary John Travolta. a rich pasta dish with delicious combo of cheese and a savory tomato based sauce. It was amazing. The owner was very friendly and came to visit our... More

It was a romantic night with my boyfriend in Firenze. We were completely exhausted after all day enjoying the city and we were looking for this restaurant because it is recommended by "Guia Michelin". We did not know that we must wait almost one hour for a simple pasta dish, that it was terrible!!! Never in my life I ate... More

My couple and me had dinner in this restaurant. They needed more than half hour for two pasta dishes. The pasta was the worst that We have never eaten before. I don't suggest...and the restaurant is small, with a bad management and with a bad service in all the staff. Expensive.

We chose this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel as it was close by. This is a very small restaurant with the tables so close together you almost feel as if you are sitting with the people next to you. The service was good even though the restaurant was busy. The meal was nice - but not the best... More

Excellent service, great food, both very traditional Tuscan dishes, as well as more universal Italian. The owner is very friendly, and will accommodate special requests. Have been there 5 or 6 times and never dissappointed

This place is expensive. We stopped in for lunch, we were given delicious warm bread with olive oil. I had a caprice salad and my husband had the wild boar pasta. Both were really delicious. The service was really really good. The waiter was so friendly and chatty. We were given a complimentary desert but for €40 for one bottle... More

After spending time in Lake Como and the Cinque Terre, and now Florence, this was by far the best meal we've had in almost two weeks of travel in Italy. Not only is the food impeccable, but the management and service is top notch. We highly recommend this for all the foodies out there!

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
