I had the "John Travolta," which the waiter would not describe: "it's a secret." Well, it's like six looped noodles in an admittedly very flavorful pink sauce, though it's a bit too salty. No cheese. No Parmesan, even on request. No mozzarella. 29.5 Euros! Unbelievable. At 10 Euros, it would be "good" to, at best, "very good." Salty. They gave... More

We heard a lot about this restaurant before we came, we were very happy we made it here. The service is outstanding. Not only are they attentive and knowledgeable but they are so friendly and a lot of fun. The food was absolutely terrific, especially the john travolta pasta. My only criticism would be that it is expensive! The pasta... More

I was recommended this place by a friend when I asked for a good restaurant for my wife's birthday while we were traveling Italy, so I made my reservation and deposit. I also added a special request for our reservation, while not specifically met they more than made up for it. Upon walking in we were greeted and asked if... More

The hospitality was amazing! And the food even better! Great place! Would recommend it to anyone in Florence so if you are nearby I advise you to drop by and have a good dinner there

The service was unique, the food was amazing! Our waiter explained the whole menu to us, and was constantly checking in on us to see that everything was good. They have a rich menu with lots of traditional Tuscan food, including some "bold choices" that were in no way disappointing.

The special pasta dishes are way over priced - sucking tourists in in the secret recipe and John Travolta story (that told over and over again to every table- as well as "don't lick the plate"). Made me feel like I just enlisted in a scam with a bunch of other travelers. The 10% service charge on top of the... More

This family run restaurant was warm and welcoming. The staff went out of their way to make sure your experience was delicious. We read reviews about the "John Travolta" and it exceeded all expectations. After being in Italy for two weeks we dubbed this pasta to be our favorite! Our only regret was that we split the "John Travolta" pasta... More

Our wonderful tour guide, Barbara, highly recommended this small, excellent restaurant. The owner Claudio , works hard to make everyone enjoy his family owned establishment. We had wonderful olive oil with bruschetta and I tried the John Travolta special. We had to order more bread to dredge up every bit of the mystery tomato sauce. Lots of wine later, we... More

The concierge at the Westin recommended Il Profeta, which is only about a block from the hotel. We had a 7:30 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu is in Italian but the owner translated for us. The owner suggested an appetizer of garlic bruschetta and mixed vegetables which was tasty. A... More
