From the moment we arrived the service could not have been more attentive and professional. The choice of menu with Tuscan specialties (all beautifully explained) was amazing. Very hard to choose! The recommended white wine was perfect to go with our selection of fish and chicken. The sea bass was de-boned and prepared at the table (expertly) and tasted fabulous.... More

Our tour guide suggested we go to Il Profeta and we were not disappointed. The salad, pasta, and dessert all outstanding. Tiramasu is a must for dessert. Our waiter, Martin from Albania spoke great English and was very helpful with our dinner suggestions. The owner came out to chat with us. All the staff was most courteous and attentive. Would... We went here on our first night in Florence on the recommendation of a friend. The food was absolutely astounding and the service great. It is a tightly packed place with a feeling of everyone having a grand time.

I first started going to Il Profeta in 1987--when the restaurant was owned and operated by Franco. I stumbled across the restaurant by accident....I was staying at the Hotel Executive and looking for a nearby laundry and dry cleaners in the Borgo Ognisanti. I found the dry cleaners without a problem and I noticed a restaurant down the street----just a... More

Had a great dinner last week at Il Profeta with my daughter who is studying abroad in Florence. The owner and his wife treat you like family from the moment you walk in the door. We had two of their signature dishes - the "John Travolta" special which is rigatoni with a secret family sauce and spaghetti in a parmesan... More

The concierge of the hotel recommended this restaurant. The service is very good. They all speak English, the restaurant has a good wine list but the food was lousy. I asked for local antipasto and everything was fried. I had an nhoque that had a lot of fat. I couldn’t sleep well that night. This is a typical busy tourist... More

This restaurant was highly recommended by a foodie friend so maybe our expectations were too high. But we were really underwhelmed - the food was just average. Not bad by any stretch, but not at all memorable. The prices are quite high for what you get. I don't mind paying for good food, but we had much better meals in Florence... More

The Westin recommended the Il Profeta. We had early reservations and were seated right away. Our server was very friendly and helpful. He also spoke English which was great for us. I had pasta with wild boar sauce(not gamey tasting), and my husband had spaghetti with pork. They were both delicious! The restaurant was clean and we'll decorated.

Sometimes things are best left to chance. This restaurant being just that. We were strolling one evening trying our luck on picking am agreeable place to eat. As luck would have it, we walked in just before they were open for dinner service. Instead of turning us away or making is wait outside, we were ushered in and waited on.... More

Worst dining experience in our 8 days in Italy. The owner was so pushy and became visibility mad when we did not want to order a 4 course meal. The busboy sneezed into his hand, wiped it off on his pants, and proceeded to set out silverware and plates without washing his hands. Once I refused the new fork he... More
