Ate a quick snack there.

Food was ok. The pannini was served on a hamburger roll, though which I thought was odd. Friendly service and the beer was cold.

After so many times of consistently excellent food experience, it's only fair to drop a few positive notes on this unexpected gem in central Florence! What brings me back to this place is the artsy/laid back atmosphere, the great music, the friendly service, and, of course, the delicious dishes on the menu...The witty menu offers a great selection of burgers,... Remembering my first experience in Florence I looked for Cadillac, me and my wife enjoyed once again the great double burgers and the gourmet salads this place has to offer. Really good deal in Florence

On my last trip to Florence I stumbled accross this hidden gem, right in the heart of the historical center...Just two blocks away from the Duomo, this place could have not been any more different from its conservative and Renaissance infused neighbors around...The proprietor greeted me with a refreshing lesson in good manners and I instantly felt at ease in... For Italians a "panino" is something more that two slices of old bread with a sad and lonely slice of ham. Apparently at this cafe they don't know this basic thing. I went there because I remembered the times when Cadillac Cafe was a meeting point for students offering delicious food, great coffee and, sometimes, even nice photo expositions. Now... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
