A genuine Florence dining experience

I think this was the best dining experience during our trip to Italy. A typical Florence, Tuscan restaurant it appeared to be family run. I think this was the best dining experience during our trip to Italy. A typical Florence, Tuscan restaurant it appeared to be family run. Prior to the restaurant opening at 7:30 p.m. it appeared the employees dined together before opening its doors. Reservations are an absolute must as we were turned away the previous night. The food was exceptional and service was fun and attentive. For sure one of our best meals in Florence. All the pastas were exceptional but the duck ragu paperdalle was to die for. The flavor of the osobucco was spot on but perhaps it could have spent a tiny bit more time braising. The fillet with parmesan and arugula had... More

We were recommended this restaurant and what a great recommendation. The waiters were very helpful and friendly. The food - all the courses was excellent - particularly the duck ragu. We had to book the day before and it was busy but not too loud.

Reluctant to rely exclusively on Tripadvisor Reviews we ate here tonight with an open mind. We were very impressed, lovely welcome and seated quickly, (we had reservations), the meal was brilliant and the occasional problems with primi piatti vs secondi piatti was readily forgone with very pleasant staff. The Osso Bucco was spectacular and the parpadelle was a very close... More

Simply amazing home cooked food in one of the smallest and best-kept secrets in Florence. Book in advance as seating is very limited.

My husband and I dined here while on a break in Florence. We stopped by the night before to book our table as we had heard it was very popular. The door was locked when we went to book as it was so busy but the waiter came to the door and took our booking without any problem. The restaurant... More

This was the very first restaurant that we ate at in Florence, and to say that it was a spectacular start to our trip...is an understatement! This quaint and cozy spot did not disappoint. Myself and everyone I was with, thoroughly enjoyed their meal. In fact, one of the members in my group got the Veal Ossobucco, and said that... More

Had a wonderful meal at Vini e Vecchi Sapori. Our waiter was the owners son. He had fun with us; making jokes and helped us with the menu. He recommended the house red wine which was very good and cheap! I had the cheese ravioli in a rose sauce to start and the osso buco as my entree. This was... More

Definitely book if you want to eat here! And expect to share a table. They were reasonably friendly and there were a good number of locals eating here. The antipasti was fantastic, the ham absolutely delicious. We had wild boar papadelli for primi which was very good. We enjoyed the whole meal, which was very reasonably priced. The coffee was... We traveled here during the summer and I had made a rez in advance for dinner- they were turning people away telling them their next dinner rez was two months later. IT is a small family restaurant. My son who was ten looked at the menu and he told my husband that he was sad because they did not have... More
